Old news for some, but obviously not for everyone. You can see the screenshot is just Liberty City with some photoshopping.
The second image I posted is from the Episodes of Liberty City game manual. Which is what whoever made the map used to try and make it seem more legit (the largest part of the map is the same shape as the "torn" bit of the manual).
Not that there's anything anyone can do to really prove or disprove it, but personally I don't doubt that it's fake. I think for GTA V, they'll be ditching the "island" map style of previous games and will go with an RDR type of map.

I see, yesterday when Iaid eyes on these screenshots for the first time I was a little bit skeptical about them because I remember Rockstar saying that the Grand Theft Auto V map was going to be something huge like they have never done before, and this map doesn't actually look that big to me, if this was going to be the real GTA V map I would be pretty disapointed and im sure millions of fans would too.

I've heard something like that aswell, I wounder how are they going to pull this off if they are considering bringing aircraft into the game. Are we going to see the return of the same type of invisible walls that we had on Vice City (the ones that made you turn 180º instantly) or are they planing on replacing infinite ocean with infinite desert land? (since they will be ditching the island type of maps like you said.)

There'd be some sort of invisible barrier, maybe a warning, then death, like I think GTA IV was. As far as the visual goes, it's not so much of a problem to create a large sprawling land mass, when you can't actualy reach it.

True that. But the boundary type doesn't really concern me, aslong as the map is big enough for my exploring needs. All I ask is something like San Andreas but bigger and with more things to explore. Something that brings me back to my childhood days when I wake up early in the morning to explore the secrets the game had hidden for me to find out. ![]()

Good news then:

San Andreas was around 13 square miles and Red Dead Redemption 28 square miles, so it's definitely a lot bigger than SA, even if it only covers one city plus countryside.

Rockstar needs to be very carefull becayse they CANNOT mess this up, a lot of people such as myself are expecting a game that can finally match, or even go beyond the legendary San Andreas title. Sure people say GTA IV was the best etc etc, but to me, San Andreas had it all and it can still make envy to lots of other games being released nowdays. Its on now, Game of The Year or BUST!

Mmm i wonder how many disks the 360 version will ship with.
At least we have the advantage of Blu-ray for the games potential scale.
