Re: Next location for a GTA

True.
Even a new film based in the UK was considering having Subtitles for NA due to the understandings of heavy london accents.
They're just being picky now.

Re: Next location for a GTA

[ Edited ]

I've got to disagree with the people saying the next GTA can't be set in Tokyo, London and other cities outside of America just to appease the American audience.

A big part of the GTA franchise, its humour and tone inparticular, has to do with satiring the whole American dream thing. Its a parody of American humour, lifestyle, and culture, and especially the idea of any poor person can be a self made millionaire by doing a nine-to-five job. Moving GTA to another country won't effect the gameplay but it might cause the franchise to lose alot of what makes it funny.

Anyway for the above reasons I think Washington might be a good setting for the game at the heart of politics and all that.

I think GTA games set in america are just overdone. London? Yeeeh maybe but im just not fussed about there. Maybe Russia? Moscow type area. Oy maybe Europe?

And also why would it matter what side of the road that country drives on? As if most of us actually stick to the driving laws in the games.

It's just GTA has been set in every game since the very first, bar one of them. And ok it is different states but its still very much the same. Me thinks its time for change!

Re: Next location for a GTA

Yes it is most definately time for a change in GTA location. The whole poor man does good rags to riches American dream scenario has been flogged to death by Rockstar now. Surely the sombre grim humourless tale of Niko Belic proved this. I agree that previous incarnations of the franchise benefited greatly from its American theme, but for me at least that time has passed and its time to offer something new.

Re: Next location for a GTA

Well, I think Paris would make a great location. For one thing they drive on the same side as Americans on the roads. Lots of great locations for missions. The Louvre, the Eiffel Tower ( I can imagine being on top of it carrying out a sniper mission)

In fact I think make it like San Andreas, include other french cities including the countryside. Places like Marsielles and the French Riviera where the millionaires live. Perhaps include an offshore island like Corsica into the mix as well?
