GetData for the Texture2D class

Hi,

 

I'd like to check if there would be interest in requiring that function to Sony for the suite. I think it's an interesting thing to do and it's possible (but remarkably complex for such a simple thing) with OpenGL.

 

That's something I find quite interesting for a number of reasons, mostly related to simple texture modifications, procedural texture generation, etc. One of the main uses I've got for requesting this is that I've got a class (MegaTexture) that I use for putting together a bunch of sprites so that they render faster (you don't have to change the texture in the context and can thus batch them).

 

Should we put it as a request for the suite? Maybe I'm late with this and somebody has already requested it?

 

BTW, I know you can work around the issue using the Image class for some stuff (like the case I've explained before). Still I think it would be a nice feature to add IMO.
