loaded the game up fine yesterday after i bought it crashed on the prologue so i deleted and reinstalled. on the install screen the game crashed and so i tried again after a full delete of all files. stilll didnt work. eventually got to install screen but crashed mid way through i left for 1 hour and it stayed in the same place. i gave up restarted the ps3 and loaded up MAG it crashed on 1st screen so i logged off and went to bed. woke up scared to death my ps3 was dead - switched it on and turned on MAG the game plays but when i go to quit game it crashes my ps3 and the console makes crazy noises as it fights to work.
i ring up sony and explain the problem he says that its not the game and that its the hardware. i said my ps3 worked fine until the game was installed. he said i needed to restore the system and took me through some hidden menus. we turned the system back on and tried heavy rain again and guess what? it crashed on the load up screen. he says i should reformat it so i said ok il try that but i dont think it will fix it as tje ps3 is making noises it should not be making. he said it may require replacing and if it did i would have to pay 130 pounds as it is now out of warranty.
thanks heavy rain dev team u ruined my ps3 which has hardly been used in comparison with most gamers. i dont have the money to pay for a fix as i spent my expendible income on your game.
do not buy it consumers

It will break your Savegames....
It makes no fun to play everytime from the beginning becaus I never saw an ending.... because of that bug
And it will break your ps3 ... Tough *****

The exact same thing happened to me, exactly the same. Heavy Rain did break my PS3 and now I've got to shell out for a new one.

It's probably due to the bug that hit millions of PS3 users and nothing to do with Heavy Rain at all. I've played through Heavy Rain three times already and had no problems. Like I say, it's most likely due to the bug/virus that messed up all the PS3 systems recently. http://www.edge-online.com/news/sony-issues-ps3-bug-update
It happened to me on the release of Heavy Rain, at least a couple of days before this bug.

Good lord - what is heavy rain going to be blamed for next? the outbreak of world war 2? If heavy rain was breaking PS3's given that they've sold half a million copies, don't you think there'd be more than TWO people claiming it had? Some of these claims are getting beyond laughable now.....
