There is a little tearing on mine when i really look for it but its not that noticable at all, it is a lot worse on my mates tv and i mean a lot, i would notice it during game play on my mates tv and it would probably bug me. But on my tv i only notice it if i specifically look for it and wouldnt affect my playthru of the game.
It was the same with bayonetta i completed it never once saw screen tearing, but ***** it was there on my mates tv. Also he only gets tearing on GAMES never on tv or blu ray. I dunno i spose it could be the HDMI cable, its the only cable ive ever really seen that doesw matter if you get a good one or not. (1.3 hdmi compliant) aslo if your tv takes 1.3 hdmi or 1.2 as the ps3 is spitting out 1.3 and a majority of the tvs that people own have 1.2 hdmi inputs. Could be interference, could be the ps3 overheating, could be the game itself jsut some tvs are better at hiding it than others..
I think pretty much that this thread is all that XBOX fanboys will say about Heavy rain "Its rubish cuz of screen tearing" I will still wait for the full retail game.
They will fix issues if there are any, they have just released a patch for darksiders on the XBOX to fix the screen tearing on the conosle.
Nice, so my Sony Bravia is cheap TV that cannot handle the game?
I never said the game has BAD GRAPHICS. The graphics are great. What bugs me it does have tearing, I can see it, and many other people can notice it too. If you don't notice, guess, well done - you're lucky.
For the record:
1. The tearing I noticed always happened while viewing a cutscene
2. Someone commented that me expecting Heavy Rain to have no tearing is like I am expecting the game to be perfect. I played MANY PS3 games, and very few of them suffered tearing. So, no tearing is not perfection, its the NORM.
3. I will still buy Heavy Rain - I have mentioned the tearing problem because its there and it nags me
4. I bet it wont be fixed for final release

Due to the demo being an old build I believe there is a chance they haven't added VSYNC yet. If you don't no what VSYNC is google it.
Just remember this game also requires an install so I don't no will than eliminate screen tearing to the folk having the problems.
But if I'm honest I'm playing on a 46" 1080p bravia and haven't noticed any screen tearing. Ill try again later and see if I can find it.

When you add vsync the framerate comes down. And I bet that whatever FPS its already running at is not pretty.

Is this demo on the UK store? Can't seem to find it, even when doing a search.

Uncharted Drakes fortune had screen tearing issues noticeably at the water fall-U boat section. The when Uncharted among thieves came out it somehow looked way better and had zero screen tearing. How did naughty dog pull that off?
