They need to do another patch!

On my first playthrough, it was all good but it started freezing after I tried getting all the endings/epilogues, the game keeps freezing from "Fish Tank" onwards...

I want my Platinum Trophy!

This week i bought heavy rain BCES00458 game. I have a problem , so game freeze chapter 3 episode 2  not moving . Game freeze and i just see black screen . I try every thing , delete game data and 2.0 pach but not help me. I'm unhappy .

I decided to buy either an Xbox or a PS3 and there were to things that made me decide to buy a PS3: BR and Heavy Rain.

Let us just say that the second is almost impossible ... Mine freezes after I put the kid to sleep (just after playing for less than an hour!).

 I had the impression I was buying into hassle free gaming otherwise I would have stayed in PC land which has a lot more to choose from.

I have the 4.0 firmware. Is it possible to downgrade to a 3.x one? I have already tried reinstalled the game.

Sorry for bumping an old post but I am new to PS3 and I am having the same problem.  Borrowed Heavy Rain from a friend, got to the opening cutscene of the Mall (Montage scene where Ethan puts his son o his shoulders, clown face top right) and it froze.  Checked the disc, cleaned it and loaded back up, same again, froze in exactly the same place.

I went out today and purchased myself a copy thinking it may be my friends disc and started a new game, again, froze in exactly the same place.

Hoping to find a solution as I am totally gutted as I was really looking forward to playing this.

I bought the game before yesterday. 

I downloaded the patch yesterday and try to play but it freezing 3 times !!!

it's the best game ever made at least in my opinion but this freezing makes me really disappoint and sad.

Quantic Dream, is it too hard for you to made a patch fix all this problems ???

PLEASE do something, it's my favorite game I want it to be perfect...

I just bought this game and couldn't get through one scene without freezing.  And this was after characters started going invisible and dialog would cut out.  I took it back and got a different version (director's cut) since I heard that it didn't have this problem.  At first it was working okay, but then the dialog started dropping out and I would get short freezes that would come back.  But now I'm at a scene that just stops loading during the closeup face loading screen.  Nothing.  Can't get past it.

I bought this game after seeing the preview on E3 about Beyond.  Now I'm guessing I will not be buying that game.  

I haven't read all the posts, but my guess it is a problem with the PS3 and not the disc.  I'll bet this is a double layer disc and some PS3s are having problems reading the disc consistently.  I have a 2nd PS3 to try it on, but I'm not sure I want to spend hours getting back to that spot again.  I have tried to transfer my game save via Playstation Plus account, but that limits to one transfer every 24 hours.  Which effectivly means 2 days for me since after 24 hours I will be going to bed and waiting until the next day.

Bah, I was really getting into it too.

I may have found a solution.  Redo the chapter instead of loading the save.  To do that, select "go to Start Menu" after the game loads and then go to "Chapters."  So far, that has been working for me.

Just in case you're worried about keeping your past decisions, the chapters list are essentially auto-saves at the beginning of each chapter, remembering your decisions from the previous chapter(s); while loading the game reloads the auto-saves in between chapters (or at the beginning of one).  

I hope this works for others.

P.S. I read somewhere that occassionally the auto-save takes very long to save and the screen may become blank.  The advice from the developer is to NOT restart your game until after you wait for about 5mins.  Restarting it may corrupt the save game data, resulting in the freezing.  I vaguely remember doing that before my freeze issues started.

The game was pretty good for me with some very minor issues (graphics etc) allowing me to obtain almost all of the trophies.

The final Trophy i require is the Good Father trophy. Without fail i get a crash when, after putting the kid to bed, Ethan wakes in the street in the pooring rain. At this point it stalls with the audio still running (sound of rainfall) the screen is frozen and there is nothing i can do.... as a result - even though i have done all tasks correctly, my trophy wont pop.

This is so frustrating after putting in so may hours on all of the endings and various tasks to get the platinum. Please Quantic Dream, please fix this remarkable game. Its so close to genius.

I have tried with and without the latest patch, also tried the move edition and still the same result.

Have you tried a different PS3?

I had the same kind of problem with another game - needed one last trophy for the Plat. Placed my save file on a different PS3 and it worked first time.

I have the same problem! first I thought its the ps3 but then I found out its the game! I also replacd the game with a newer one and I had the same problem.
my ps3 is up to date. have u found any solution yet?
