Heavy Rain

Reply

Heavy Rain has lost me ALL my games memory and will cost nearly 200 pound to be fixed.

I put on my game (Heavy Rain) and started to play.

I got to the bit where the woman couldn't sleep... all of a sudden her face turned all weird and her body started to twist round. Later I saw that all my trophies and other game data had been curropted... a year and a half worth of gaming.

I then find out I need to get it fixed at 150 pounds... plus I lose 40 pound because the game is actually worthless... it isn't fair that I lose nearly 200 pound for something its own company broke... my ps3 was fine before this and I can't even get a refund... I had to save and work hard for months to make sure I could get this game.

Isn't there anything that can be done to get my data back and make it work at least?

What do you mean by it will cost you to fix corrupted data? That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. If it's corrupt data you simply can repair it via the system menu. If your Hard Drive has gone kaput, it'll cost around £40 to replace it. Can you clarify as to the actual issue?

Firstly, calm down. You first posted that you had lost your saves and trophies. You are now saying that your PS3 won't start up. Is it flashing with a red then yellow light on the front of the console? What console do you have? How long have you had it? Does the PS3 start up but not go to the XMB? Answer some of these clearly and perhaps someone could offer some assistance. Oh and who's charging £150? It costs £120 to get it repaired by Sony themselves.

I hope your automobile and home are fine then if you don't keep maintenance on them.

maybe if you werent so rude, youd get a better response. the forums are quieter than they used to be, and it can take a while to get a reply, depending on the section you post in.

also, as said already, the lack of info means that noone will be able to help you anyway.

Re: Heavy Rain has lost me ALL my games memory and will cost nearly 200 pound to be fixed.

Can you answer this questions with a yes or no answer please:

1. What country are you in?

2. Does your PS3 start up and go to the XMB ?

3. If it starts up does it freeze when you try to sync your trophies ?

4. What model of PS3 is it?

5. How long have you had it?

If you have answered yes to question 2 then your PS3 is not dead and you certainly do not have to pay £150 to have it repaired. Call Sony and one of their lovely technical support bods will talk you through restoring the system and resynchronising your trophy's. If you answer no to number 2 you should also call Sony as it still may be possible to recover your system.

Re: Heavy Rain has lost me ALL my games memory and will cost nearly 200 pound to be fixed.

first off, you will have lost all your saves, unless you have them backed up on your pc unfortunately.

does the ps3 switch on for a second, change from a green light to yellow, then turn off again with light changing to flashing red?

if so, id ring sony and ask them what they can do for you. they may give you a refurb 60gig machine (assuming you have a 60gig) free as a goodwill gesture, this is what i was offered.

if its the above scenario your experiencing, then im sorrry to say you have got 'the yellow light of death'.

have you tried calling sony?
