Multiplayer Heavy Rain, anyone?

As soon as I got my copy of Heavy Rain, I took it over to a friend's house and we played through the entire thing in one go. What we did, though, was played it with 2 other people (so 4 of us in total) and as you all know there just happens to be 4 characters in the game. So we each took a character and would only play as that character, watching as the others would make different choices through out the game, meanwhile sitting and thinking "that's not something I would've chose to do", or "I definitely would've done better/worse at that part".

The original way I wanted to play it, though, would've been for us to play our parts separately. Meaning, once a character was on screen, the person who chose that specific character would pick up the controller and play, while the other 3 would leave the room. Of course if you're character was on screen, but you weren't playing you would still watch what was happening, so you would get your character's full story.

Imagine playing through as Madison the first time playing the game. Every time you encountered Ethan, you  would be as awestruck as her as Ethan's condition would continually degrade, but he keeps saying nothing about what he's been up to or through. It would've made anybody want to play through it again and again, just to see the full story from all perspectives.

In my opinion something like this is the only thing that could've made this game any better. I'm hoping for online multiplayer in Quantic Dream's next project. If not that, at least a way to play the game one character at a time the whole way through, without having to stop after each scene to jump ahead to the same character's next scene.

What do you think?

When I saw the thread title, I automatically thought it would be a bad idea, but after reading through your post, I understand your take on it. However, the nature of Heavy Rain will simply not allow this.

Each character had a relatively short combination of scenes, so the game would be brief on your first playthrough. Given the amount of work put into Heavy Rain, simply adding more scenes to each player also seems unfeasible. Gameplay would also be repetitive for a single character, a combination of the detective, family life, chase scenes is needed for it to work properly.

:Sniper:Multiplayer Heavy Rain Would Be A Good And Bad Idea...............

Good: Because You Could Work Together To Get Through The Game Quicker!

Bad: Because You'll Be Repeatedly Keep Arguing Saying " Come This Way We Have To Help Her" And "No This Way We Have To Help Him" Etc.

Thats My Opinion Of HR Multiplayer
