Heavy Rain

Re: So who's HAPPY with Heavy Rain then?

I can't understand those who say they've been "ripped off" or "raped" of £40 for this game...not only am I delighted to pay £40 for the game, but I'd be willing to buy a PS3 to play it on too! (if I hadn't already got one, that is lol)...and the people who I've seen give the game a slating haven't played it right anyways, finishing in 6 hours and not replaying, they've robbed themselves lol:smileyvery-happy: nor can I understand people knocking the graphics in Heavy Rain - they're the best graphics I've seen and we have top spec PC's so we know what good graphics look like - and these graphics rival anything I've ever seen on the PC. I really can't praise the game highly enough, but then you've probably noticed that hehe:smileytongue:

This is a love-or-hate game, just like the other games. If you don't like drama and just want guns ablazing, search elsewhere. This is for gamers who like a story.

My personal opinion of the game is that is a great game, one that I will play multiple times to see the many outcomes, but it's not without it flaws.

Pros:

Engaging story, many moments of suspense and you feel for the characters.

Loading screens are replaced with such realistic facial close-ups, you could swear they were real people.

Soundtrack is phenomenal and really sets the mood. I don't know who the composer is, but I'll definately be purchasing it. I was worried that because Angelo Badalamenti wasn't on the soundtrack that it would be fail, but boy was I wrong.

Mid Ground:

As with Indigo Prophecy the controls can be as frustrating, but the interaction with objects and fighting controls try to be as faithful to the actual movesas in real life. Of course, the controller can only go so far in doing so.

Cons:

The voices range from good to awful. Personally, my first time through the game I didn't even notice these things because I was so engaged.

Plot holes and I'm still not sure if the plot twist cheated or not.

I'm maybe half way through, and I've been thoroughly enjoying it.

I felt I may be taking a chance on this game, and I'm definitely glad I did.

I am EXTREMELY happy with this game. With all the emotions it managed to give me. I wonder if there will be any game in this year 2010 that will manage to surpiss my love for Heavy Rain!!

Love Heavy Rain!! I don't get how people say it's £40 for a film. Eg in the mall you are looking for Jason. If I was a film it will be just one massive cutscene, whereas in heavy rain you control ethan in the search for his son. If that's not gameplay what is?! Also about plot holes. They are not that bad use your imagination. Many games have major plot holes. Just for some reason all the cod noobs seem to be picking on heavy rain.
