The opening of Heavy Rain compared to Dilbert - the Gift.

I was just wasting time watching the old Dilbert cartoon on Netflix, and it struck me how similar the scene in the episode "The Gift" (s01e14) is to the opening parts of heavy rain where you lose your son.  In the episode it is Dilbert being abandoned at the mall by his dad, but the initial image of the malls layout and the clown and the balloon and even one of the stores seem spookily similar to Heavy rain's opening.  Any one else noticed this?
