I don't think they chose to lie. I heard Sony was pretty adamant that they should develop controls for the Move rather than work on DLC - and Quantic Dream are a 1st party company after all.

The move patch will be available from 28th Sep to download for the original version and the 'move' edition doesnt come out till 8th Oct?...No extra content (soundtrack and Taxidermist is pointless anyway). So who the hell is actually gonna pay for something that will be free anyway??? Seems a bit of a waste of time. Why did they not just leave it as a patch?
What? the soundtrack was an excellent addition. And the same as people buying the OST cd's from films. they get to listen to the score without interruptions. Taxidermist was a good start to the episodes they will now start to focus on (unless they have already said they have scrapped all plans)
Plus the extra bonuses which like ytevo said is (for a fan) something that will warrent the extra coins. plus they no doubt trade in the old HR game, so technically you get say 14-17 ( i know 2 weeks ago someone traded it in and got 20 for it) So in a sense you get what heavy rain should have been from the start.

Never heard of a 1st party studio making their next game multiformat ![]()
Maybe because they are an independent company then ![]()

I for one will be buying it.
1. I love everything QD going back to Omikron
2. The only way to insure the things you enjoy and respect stick around is to vote with your time and your wallet. Therefore, I'mma buy it.
3. The extras. Granted there aren't too many fabulous extras but again, QD is passionate about what they're trying to do, namely turn video games into something other than a zero sum competition and into an immersive art form and story telling platform. Thus I want to see how their brains work, I want to sit in on that procces. (I loved the score and downloaded it from Itunes right after my first play through because I couldn't get it out of my head.)
4. I'd like to see how much more immersive the game may be with Move.
5. I live in pointless hope that somehow new DLCs will magically appear and provide an incentive and a new opportunity to purchase the Move version and explore the HR world a little more.
Sooo yeah. Not everyone will re-buy the game, many people will only buy the Move version - and I notice no one seems to be crying foul about a small company being forced into compromising their goals by a bigger distrubting partner - and some will be so irritated by the stagnation/abandonment of the DLCs and the forced development of a Move version that they will abandon the company and the game. So be it.
Regarding the likely abandoned DLCs, I too am seriously annoyed by this. There are certain factors in the game that I think will only make sense if there is some additional backstory, but, I think Sony had QD by the jewels on this. QD is very clear about the experience of the gameplay coming first, if Move had been viable during initial development I am positive they would have developed for it. It wasn't, so they did what they could.
Can you imagine the frustation of being pressured into truncating their efforts to complete this story for their loyal fans in order to create a tie-in for a new hardware feature just to keep the big guys happy? These dudes are artists as much as they are business people that's gotta hurt.

Can you play the move edition of the game using a normal controller, or is it move only?
Yes I belive it will support the normal controller as well, the box art supports this by saying 'PlayStation Move features' rather than 'Playstation Move Required'.
I assume other than the extra content, it will be identical to the patched original.

Remember, people, the "Move version" is a free patch, not purchasable DLC. Stop spreading false rumors...
At any rate, the patch is going live on Tues. and I soooo want this. Bought the Move on release day here in the States and WHOA, I am MORE than impressed by the Move. The Wii has NOTHING on the Move tech. Real deep stuff, for real. I have to literally have to force myself to stop playing whereas with the Wii, while fun, I'd get bored extremely quick due to weak tech and graphics. Not with the Move. I didn't expect to be this blown away and I was even saying when the Move was announced and before HR was released that I wanted a game like HR that utilized Move tech. This is a start. I want more.
