Heavy Rain

Here's a strange problem I have, when I first installed Heavy Rain I opted not to download v1.02 and just continued. The game played fine no problem, and pressing the Start button would pause the game and enter the main menu. Then after a few days of playing, pressing the Start button did nothing at all. I decided to try a game data delete and reinstall, still the same problem. Then I downloaded v1.02, still the Start button does not do anything during gameplay?!

Because I've already completed the game once, I'm on my second time around and I have 2 save games which I can select when the game boots up, on that selection screen seems to be the only time that when I press Start, I can access the main menu. So at the moment if I want to exit the game I have to press PS and totally quit the game.

I have the latest PS3 firmware, the latest game update, I've deleted and reinstalled, and it's not my controller (because it works fine with everything else and from the save game selection screen). Has anybody else come across this same bizzare problem?

Not really a proper solution or reason of the cause, but the problem seems to have something to do with the save game. If you start a new game and save to a new slot, the start button works okay during play. However if I reload the first save game I had when the problem appeared, the start button is non-responsive again. So there must be some sort of random glitch when it saved to that particular save game.
