If you've only played in the Warzone as a soldier, you've experienced a mere fraction of the abilities and tactics Killzone 2 has to offer. Of course, learning the finer points of a new character class takes practice, and the frantic pace of online matches doesn't always allow that. In Community Spotlight we focus on the Killzone 2 events that do encourage fun and experimentation, as well as the dedicated community members who organize them.

This week we talk to SilentShadow777, esteemed European Playstation.com forum member and host of the one-class only event known as Shadow's Class Act, which takes place every Tuesday at 9 p.m. GMT.
Hi SilentShadow777, please tell us a little about yourself.
Hello, my name is Neil, AKA Silenthadow777. I've been playing Killzone since the PlayStation 2 days, when we were still defending Vekta against the invading Helghast forces. I started off playing Killzone 2 under a different username, though: I was known as userzero7777777 in the private beta, but I got tired of other players commenting on the amount of sevens in my name. So I renamed myself SilentShadow777 - what can I say, I like sevens!
Can you tell us a little about your Killzone event(s)?
I got the idea for my first Killzone 2 event when my friends and I thought it would be fun to have a few matches of melee-only. I decided to turn it into an event called Melee Warzone, in which the participants could only melee-attack during Assassination rounds and only use pistols during the Body Count round.
After a few months of this event I felt it was time for a new format, so I came up with the idea of allowing everyone access to only one selected class each week, to keep some variety in the event. This is the format of the current event, also known as Shadow's Class Act. Class Act takes place every Tuesday, at 9 p.m. (GMT-UK time).
How can players partake in the Class Act? Is there a password, and if so, where can it be found?
Players can take part in class act by searching the password protected rooms for a room named "class act". The password can be found in the official Class Act thread on the European PlayStation.com forums.
Why did you choose to limit the event to one class per week?
The reason for limiting the event to one class per week was to challenge players to come out of their comfort zone and try out the other classes. Everyone has their own favorite class, which they will normally stick to. There's nothing wrong with that, but there's also a lot of fun to be had in experimentation. Limiting everyone to a particular class can produce very interesting game dynamics - for instance, in games with the saboteur class, everyone wears disguises and it becomes nearly impossible to tell who to trust.
How do you determine which maps, modes and classes to include each week?
Usually I just work my way down the list, but there are a couple of factors that can influence my choice of maps. The selected class and its corresponding weapons are important, since different classes may work better on different map types. Map requests made in the official Class Act thread can also play a role.
The match setup is simply a standard Warzone session with all game modes active, to allow players to see how each class works on each of the game modes. Some classes will obviously be stronger in some game modes than others.
Anything else we should know?
Now that you mention it, I also manage the forums of a well-established clan website, and I'm a member of the clan leadership and administration team. Check us out sometime, we’re always up for a larf--er, fight.
We will! Thank you for your time, SilentShadow777.
My pleasure. See you at the Class Act!
