I really wish that people would stop thinking that the shotgun is a noob gun. The only people who are noobs are those who decide to go close enough to a shotgun, to be killed by it. If you have got a rifle, then why cant you shoot the person with the shotgun, before he gets close enough to shoot you. I dont particulary think that any weapon should be considered a "noob" gun, as each weapon needs a certain skill to master it. Yes it might get annoying getting constantly killed by rocket launchers etc, but without the variety of weapons, people would moan about only having Assualt rifles to use!
that line sums up kudos for me lol
its a close combat weapon if ya silly enough to go close your gonna come off worse.
every engineer i see i stay back and i pump rounds into them i dont find the shotgun a problem simpley because i don't get close enough to find out what the f*ck it's loaded with.

You've missed the point. It's not a matter of how people should react when encountering a shotgun. The discussion is about the degree of skill needed to become sufficient at mastering particular weapons. It's pretty clear that each weapon has varying difficulty, and the shotgun is certainly not the hardest to master.

MB's Killzone Saturday Fun Night is back - and whether you're HGH or ISA - you're gonna' get kneecapped*.
This week, we're going stealthy...
Yes, that's right, there'll be no large and phallic explosions or brutal swarms of lead here - we're having a night of precision aiming, backstabbing and malice ![]()
For this match, you'll only be able to use the Soldier, Saboteur, Tactician and Scout badges. You won't be able to use badge combinations and all the larger weapons (Rocket Launchers, G.Launchers, Shotguns) will be unavailable. Further, even if you fire - you will not appear on the radar... It's off.
You'll need to rely heavily on well placed spawn points, sniper cover and pure soldier brutality. For this reason I've chosen the larger maps (Salamun Market, Phyrus Rise, Blood Gracht...) for what I hope to be a very tactical game.
And as with all my events, Friendly Fire is a definite - so when you see a team mate running towards you, gun raised - you'd better think before you shoot him in the face! Remember, you lose a whopping 3 points for a team-kill...
So! Squad up, grab a headset and join me this Saturday Night for MB's STEALTHZONE!
