NO CO-OP? NONSENSE! Introducing 'Helghast Horde'!

I don't really care for co-op in the singleplayer. It's perfectly fine the way it is! Guerrilla Games did the right thing here.

Now that the speculation about a cooperative singeplayer-patch is over, let's focus on some other idea's!
Here's one (please forgive my English, I’m Dutch):

HELGHAST ‘HORDE’

Take any current (and future) multiplayer-map. Invite three of your friends, search for random players or join one of your friends. Once you're ready, all four ISA Soldiers (you and your teammates) spawn at one end of the map, and a few AI Helghast spawn at the other end.

This mode uses the singleplayer-controls (including cover), and the Helghast behave like they do in singleplayer. The only difference is that you can still choose a current (and perhaps future) multiplayer-class.

The goal of your team is to wipe out all Helghast, using tactics, teamwork and the best weapons you can find (including the flamethrower and the nailgun!). This means that the maps need little enhancemants, such as weapon-storages near the base. As your team progresses, more Helghast will spawn and attack you. Everytime you’re done killing all Helghast, the next wave will begin shortly thereafter, spawning even more (and more difficult types) of Helghast at the other end of your map. You and your team only have a few seconds to switch positions and/or collect ammo.

The Helghast will hunt you, flank you, surprise you and they will show no mercy.
If one of your teammates is down, you can revive him or her. If they go down again, they're 'dead'. They'll have to wait untill the next wave starts. After that, they'll respawn.

Another cool thing about this, is the option to choose a multiplayer-class (as I said earlier). This way, you and your team can setup choke-points (with turrets) and call for Air Defense. This will prevent the Helghast from flanking you etc.

The ‘waves’ are endless. They just keep getting harder and harder. There should be Leaderboards (global and for friends), so you can see how far you, as a team, have progressed in comparison to other teams/players.
There’s individual scoring as well, so you can try to the best of your team as well.

So, how do you like this idea?

(Note: I know the name ‘Horde’ is also used in Gears of War 2’s similar ‘Horde mode’. I just used it because ‘Helghast Horde’ sounds good – and it’s also just an idea)

A fan boy?

Dude, where'd you get that idea? I'd give the game a 7. And a big part of that score is because of the beautiful graphics and the very decent multiplayer.

Ofcourse the game could've been better. You're spelling could be too!

You see, there's always room for improvement.

I'd say it's a great idea and kudos for taking the time to plan it.

I would however allow a few more players, possibly 8-16 though the latter could lag with higher numbers of helghast.

I'd also be prepared to pay for this but nothing over £8

I'd say 4-6 max. Also because you'll be forced to really work as a team then.

Otherwise, you could also just set-up a regular 16vs16 match, where all Helghast are bots.

Re: NO CO-OP? NONSENSE! Introducing 'Helghast Horde'!

I like the idea, but would prefer a Resistance 2 type set up for co op. Mission based objectives that require teamwork, but totally separate from the main single player.

The story isn't as deep as Resistance 2, but I still feel it could work. There's a whole war going on that has other people involved during the main story, and the missions could be based around that.

This is exactly the same as Horde on GoW2

Well, not *exactly*.

Choosing a multiplayer-class and placing turrets/C4’s etc will deliver a very fresh way to play.

Also, who cares that it’s a bit similar to Call of Duty’s: Zombie mode and Gears of War 2’s ’Horde mode’?

Those modes are a blast to play! I believe it could even be MORE fun if it would be added to Killzone 2.

I would love it and actually profer it from Resistance 2's Co Op.

I thought the co oop in that game sucked.
