Hi

Has anyone had this issue and if so how did you get round it?

Loading up the game for the first time tonight and after the move screens the message comes up that there's a patch (1.03) and to click ok to install. I can't even click ok however as the screen has frozen and I have to re-boot my PS3.

I've been through and made sure that there's no beta stuff on my HDD and deleted the retro maps DLC but my PS3 still locks up the moment that screen appears. Grrrr.

Damn annoying that after 3 days I finally have chance to play the game and I can't even load the thing up. Double grrrr.

Can anyone shed any light? Thanks

I haven't heard of this, are your other games ok ? maybe your PS3 file system is corrupted. If you don't find the answer here, maybe you could try one of the technical problem sub boards.

I've had this problem before on 3 games

Start the game. Cancel the patch (if you can)...get a save game on asap...quit game, start up game ...download patch... it should work. (If your PS3 didn't freeze during patch notification screen)

If it still crashes upon patch screen.... the only other way.... is to disable internet conection in network settings.

Start game, get a save on, quit game, re-enable internet connection, start game..... hopefully your patch will download and install.

Unfortunately it freezes the moment the screen comes up so I can't cancel it. I hadn't even thought of popping out my ethernet cable so it couldn't detect the patch, great idea   I know it's only KZ that's currently affected as I've just fired up Need for Speed and that patched with no probs.

If it doesn't work I'll post over in the techy sub forum as you suggest Max.

Yay! Codey you're a star Disabling the internet to bypass the patch and creating a save offline worked a treat! Patch is now downloaded and all is well again. Thanks for your help
