Thats what Helghan looks like. It's meant to show war torn Helghan and the brutal world of the Helghast. Trolololol :smileyvery-happy:

Guerilla will need to relase a map pack "Helghast Seaside Holiday" a bunch of sunny maps set on a beach resort.

Lol, that would actually be amazing. I can empaphise though, some of my favourite maps on most online games across platforms was the sunny maps. Tbf, the snowy map from the beta was some what colourful, however, let it shine GG! Well, the sun, not anything else of course...

But the point of DLC really is to prolong the life of the game and to lower the number of folk trading the game in tbh.  It was the same with Bulletstorm this week, they announced DLC just as the game came out in the US.  it's the way the industry is moving.

LOL no it's not. It used to be, until publishers realised what a little cash-cow it is.

Now it's about getting a fatter revenue stream from the same development budget. It's not like there are a large number of maps on the disk to start with. And it's also not showing a lot of faith in your product to release not one, but two DLCs within the first week of release if the motivation is to extend longevity.

Re: Steel Rain DLC Map Pack

Im sorry but the maps looked like they were being produced before release of the actual game. If they charge for these maps then Im seriously think about trading in KZ3. This just smacks of keeping maps out for monetary purposes. It is nearly as bad as DICE keeping maps back to release them as supposed DLC but at least those maps were free.

DLC should be content that was developed after release in my opinion, anything that was developed during production of the game but the company did not have enough time to finish should be free.

Re: Steel Rain DLC Map Pack

The DLC clearly wasn't ready for release.

I love how they're supporting the game and can't wait to get the map pack.

We didn't get enough support last time.

I've had 10 maps at launch (granted I can't play a few of those in Guerrilla Warfare), and this will make 12. . .and then even more.

How long will you play KZ3 for?

Aren't the maps worth it considering they'll cost you a couple of pints that are gone in a couple of hours ?

I agree with you that the maps were clearly not finished for release (GG even said themselves they needed another two months). What irriates me is that they are now selling the maps they didnt finish in time for money when they should be included in the box or  for free. I have no problem paying for something after release if it has been developed after release rather than held back so the company can make easy money. It would be like buying a book with the last pages missing and then being charged to have the last pages to finish the story. Its not the money that puts me off buying the maps its the principle. IMO valve have got the right way to do DLC but clearly they are an exception.

Re: Steel Rain DLC Map Pack

But it's not been held back.

It was never intended to be including in the original game.

It was ALWAYS planned to be released a few months after launch. They began working on the maps after the game went gold. It's simple really.

These maps are being created post-gold , and as such are perfectly fine.

I doubt they'll ever announce plans for DLC so early again due to the amount of people not understanding, and thus moaning about them. Thanks for the moaning as now we'll be kept in the dark.

The VIP code was needed so even that wasn't free. I agree with you though its sleazy marketing. Given the retro map pack and the release date for the DLC's I'd say these were held back not because they couldn't finish it but just to stretch out the possible revenue. The jetpack level proves this, why not finish that instead of one of the infantry only maps?

So the only unique thing in the new killzone has to be paid for again.
