The Killzone rules of courtesy.

[ Edited ]

So when you play Killzone online there are a few simple rules to help you to be courtesy to you team mates and be an overall nice person.

1. C4 can win the tide of battle, but placing it on Team-mates can be a bit rude. Of course you can get easy kills this way but you didn't really earn it. There are some exceptions though, If you and a team mate agree, this Tactic can be used to get the assassination target by boosting to them covered in C4. If it wasn't agreed, the Team mate has the right to Team-Kill you.

2. Standing in front of the mounted gun translates as "Please kill me, I no longer want to fight and want an honorable soldier like you to put me out of my misery". The person mounted on the gun should then proceed to shot the person without any repercussions later on.

3. Running into the other Teams base is considered extremely rude and for doing this your Team has the Right to Team-Kill you or Vote you off. The only exception to this rule is in Assasination when the Target is in the base and he will not leave it.

4. Spawn camping even though though it's a dirty trick is slightly acceptable but base camping is not at all acceptable. This includes placing C4 or Turrets at the main entrance, Multiple Team-mates waiting at an entrance or throwing random grenades into bases.

5. An odd Team-Kill here and there happens but if you purposely set out to Team-Kill, your Team should Vote you out of the game.

6.Crouching over the enemy repeatedly :smileywink: as they die is a sign of victory but very rude. If you feel that you must do this, only do it sparingly or if the dead person was really hard to kill.

7. Placing spawn points in the enemies or your own base is incredible stupid. And labels you as a Noob.

8. Playing music down the Headset is very rude and sometimes stupid as it can give the enemy warning of your presence. The only exception to this is when other players request that music be played.

9. Pressing "Ready" before everyone has assembled is a pathetic tactic, if you really need that extra 5 seconds to get into position then you shouldn't be playing in case you injure yourself with the controller. You should only press ready when the Host has already done so and if they unready themselves you should do so also.

10. If a team mate clearly see's you trying to take out some enemies, then runs into the kill'zone', they deserved that team kill!

11.  Bots are always stupid.  Team killing the bots is NOT your fault. Team-Killing them can actually be fun

12. Points don't mean prizes.  If you are intending to win the match, don't just go around killing anything that moves.  It may get you to the top place, but it can affect the overall team work. You should help you team win the objectives and eventually win the round, because don't forget, the winning Team get's that nice 1.5x multiplier.

13. Revenge kills are perfectly OK especially if that person repeatedly killed you, for no apparent reason.

Are there any other rules that I may have left out?

Thanks Chris, I can't believe I forgot that one :smileyvery-happy:

EDIT: Should 10. be "If Carla Team-Kills you with a Rocket, it is your own fault for not getting out of her way" :smileyvery-happy:

I'l admit that, at times, I break rule 12. Not on purpose, but I can get distracted by hunting and killing people that I forget about the objective :smileysad:

I am working on it though, I try to focus a lot more on whats going on in terms of the objective.

Re: The Killzone rules of courtesy.

throwing a spawn grenade in an inappropriate area (er, of the battlefield i mean :smileytongue:), resulting in your team facing away from the enemy, and without any cover, is considered an act of treason! or people simply wont use the spawn, whatever :smileyvery-happy:

Arhh! I hate that, I'm pretty sure a lot of people don't know that the greande spawns you in the opposite direction from where it was thrown though - you wouldn't really expect it to be that way.

I've thought of another couple:

16. Use squads - loads of the time you'll find there are no spawn points available (see 17), so being able to spawn on a squad leader is essential, especially with rounds like Search and Destroy on the bigger maps.

17. Don't complain that there aren't any spawn points down and then not do anything. Yeah it's annoying when it happens, but being a tactician isn't great because you don't get points when people spawn on your grenades. So instead of complaining, switch class and do something about it.

(This has probably turned into more of a "let out your community grievances" thread than a "Killzone etiquette" one now :smileyvery-happy:)
