10 days to fix the issue, recall all discs, produce new discs and then ship them out doesn't seem like an achievable target to me. Of course I have no idea of the time scale it takes for such things to happen but 10 days seems extremely quick.

Given that Sony were under pressure to announce a new release date could the 31/10/2008 be more of an estimate than a definate? Given Sony's track record with release dates ... I shall remain sceptical!

As per MM announcement both patch and new game image are ready since Thursday so I don't see a problem there.

THe major part of the delay will be shipping / logistic itself ... Even pressing of the copies could be done in a few day taking in consideration production capacties of available lines (they can easily dhift pressing of some BD movies etc.).

MM have already got the new game image at prodcution plants now. so producing the game is already unway. As for the games that have already been shipped they will be returned now i should think,  and sony getting them all buy monday. I doubt any of them have gone to retailers yet and are in Retrialers main warehouses.

I agree Danny, it all depends is Sony want a quick release and a small delay but with few copies to go around and leave a lot of pre orders not filled i.e. limited stock or wait a few extra weeks to get more stock. Most likely Europe will get screwed again and the yanks will get most of the new batch of games while we in Europe are waiting until mid November.

no the games arent with the console/inside the box. even if they were then they would just swap the games

They were anyway scheduled for release 1 week after the game itself (31 October in Europe / UK) so there might be little to none already directly with retailers.

No - it's a proper bundle including "designer" box and I'm pretty sure the game would be inside of the SEALED PS3 box thus replacing of just the game wouldn't be "normally" an option due to the warranty issues ..

If they're shipping it to the US on the week beginning the 27th of October (link) then why not over here by then or early november? It's not as if they're re-inventing the wheel here. Find the offending track. Remove it. now make some copies and there you go! (yes, I do realises it's probably a little more complicated than that but come on!
