Downloadable content, is a form of digital media distributed through the internet. The phrase is used to refer specifically to content created for video games that is released separately from the main video game release.
Precursors to DLC
The earliest form of digital distribution in video games was the Atari 2600's GameLine service, which allowed users to download games using a telephone line. A similar service, Sega Channel, allowed for the downloading of games to the Sega Genesis over a cable line.
While the GameLine and Sega Channel services allowed for the distribution of entire titles, they did not offer Downloadable Content for existing titles. Perhaps the closest the services came to offering true DLC was Shiny Entertainment's special edition of Earthworm Jim offered over the Sega Channel, though it too was still a stand-alone download.

Ok, for everyone who is still reading, I have noticed on a few games that I have, (ex: Soulcalibur4) that there is DLC for items/costumes that are already on disk.
What if Mm released an unlock key DLC that unlocked all of lbp1 story mode/tutorial items and costume pieces? and a second for Lbp2?
Preposterous, you say, as these items can and should be unlocked via playing the story mode/tutorials.
Correct. I agree with that. But, there are people who only want to create, or do not have time to play the story or go through all of the tutorials.
The DLC could be cheap, no more than 1-2usd. But it would have a disclaimer on it. "Warning, the content of this Downloadable Pack, can be unlocked by playing the game." (Go check out the SC4 dlc to see what I mean.)
Also the LBP1 Unlock Key, should work with LBP2. So that for people who do not have lbp1 can still use the items/costumes from the first game in the second.
There could even be new secret pins added to the game via a patch.
"No DLC For You"- Unlocking all costumes/materials/stickers without using the Downloadable Key.
an
"In Depth Create/Play/Share"- Owning both Little Big Planet and Little Big Planet 2.
This just came to me as I was watching some videos on youtube.
What do you think?

If they by any weird chance Mm were to do that, I can guarantee that it won't be $1-$2 bucks. It'll be way more. But if people are willing to pay for content that's already on their disc that they can get for free by simply playing the game, then more power to them.
Tutorials don't give out costume pieces, they only give you stickers & create tools.

some nice ideas, but i thing pack containing all the hidden stuff would be best. Be hidden stuff i mean ungiven stickers (the r1 from the gardens, belt buckle, etc), costumes (im thinking of the the glowing skeleton costume and the secert silver quilted costume) and even some of the old removed glicths, eg anti colour material but set so you can change colour like hologram or a official thin thick layer.
