The Olympics may now be over, but we're not quite done with our Olympic-themed Contraption Challenge 17- that's right, it's time to reveal the finalists!
The challenge was to create a triathlete; a contraption that could traverse across land, water and then jump some hurdles. It was probably the most complicated challenges we've ever set, but that didn't stop you from creating some truly amazing levels! We've done the difficult part of narrowing down the entries to just five, so now it's your turn to play them all and vote for your favourite to decide who will earn the Contraption Challenge pin and a shiny new crown. Here they are...

Here’s what you have to do to vote for your favourite entry:
That’s about it… Oh, just a few important notes:
Good luck to all the finalists, and well done to everybody else who took part! After voting closes we’ll count up the votes and announce them as usual in a spectacular showcase video, along with some of our other favourite entries so keep an eye out for yours!

After the winner is announced there’ll be a short wait and then we’ll be right back here with the details for Contraption Challenge 18! If you’d like to take part there are a few ways you can keep track of what’s going-on:

Hey folks, thanks to all who've taken the time to vote already and those who plan to vote for their favourite of the five finalists.
Sadly, having to pick finalists always means having to draw a line over some of our favourite contraptions, especially when there are so many talented creators doing such wonderful things. You might imagine the judges sitting around agreeing which five to keep in... Actually, it's more like the judges vehemently arguing. I think my introduction to the judging panel has possibly helped in this regard, because three people means arguments tend to go 2 against 1, which does at least mean they come to conclusions more easily, if no less heatedly.
Anyway. What I'm getting round to is to implore people: please be nice. You may not agree with the selection of the five finalists - heck, the three judges don't individually agree with the selections. You probably feel passionately about your own efforts, especially if you put many hours of sweat and tears into it (I don't want to know about any other bodily fluids). (I've said it before and I'll say it again: how did my CC13 entry not get into the finalists?
)
But down-voting other people's votes and making rude comments is just not on. Please take a deep breath, count to ten, throw darts at your effigies of the judging panel and keep your comments pleasant. Pretty please? ![]()

If you like the Dalek - please vote for it!
I am not expecting to win, but I would appreciate as many votes as I can get!
Much, much appreciated!

And thanks to the judges for appreciating the hours of work.
Making it look and sound authentic took soooooooooooo long.
Making it transform into a weird Daleky-fish-type-thing (and back again) gave me several headaches.
