Not only is it not new, I can tell you were looking at the default US-English version of the page... Change the little flag to a Union Jack and the spelling of mesmerising changes...

I can't possibly say how excited I am for this game. These new tools and features just sound so awesome! This is not only going to be the best LBP yet, but probably one of the best Vita games (past, present, and future) as well.

"Unfortunately, as it is possible to watch TV through a PlayStation 3 (through iPlayer, ITVplayer, 4OD etc) you now need to have a licence to keep a PS3 in your university lodgings."
That's not actually the case. "If you don’t watch or record television programmes, or you only stream TV programmes online after they’ve been broadcast – through on-demand services like YouTube, BBC iPlayer and 4oD – you don’t need to be covered by a TV Licence" - Straight from the horses mouth. This might be useful to the students amongst you...

As for LBP2 <-> LBP Vita compatibility, I'm sure it would theoretically be possible if levels that required touch and other Vita exclusive control methods were flagged as such and filtered out of the PS3 playlists, and vice versa (Move, L2 & R2), but it was probably deemed too much effort for the amount of payoff. It's a shame as I think it would be a great feature.
That said, as far as touch and move being "the same", they're VERY different. First the Vita touchscreen has 6 finger, capacitive (pressure sensitive), multitouch. Yes it can be used to create a curor, but it can also be used for man many other functions. The Vita also has a rear pad. Of course this could somehow be emulated on LBP2 using some clever setup, but it would a) be very clumsy and b) crucially would not work for the multitude of levels that will be created.
The same applies the other way round. When the move is being used as a cursor , yes that could be emulated by touch, but how about when someone alters the yaw or pitch of the device? or enables the accelerometer? I have an unpublished lightgun level in LBP2, where you have to reload after every 6th bullet, by shooting up into the air. Thsi would simply not work on the Vita (even with it's gyros), so again a lot of levels would end up redundant.
And now for something different....
A suggestion for the expanded "notes" feature. How about a font editor? where you can specify a sticker type thing as any character in a font? That way we can even create our own font libraries. ![]()
