LittleBigPlanet and Recall: From a Muslim

[ Edited ]

Hello everyone

Due to recent issue created by an individual with a request of Quranic words/verse mix with music and being offensive to muslims. He started the letter by saying " We Muslim"

I would like to point out, that he DOES NOT represent all of US muslims. Quranic verse/words have been mixed with music for songs all over the place and are very popular in countries that are majority muslims.

Here are some examples

1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IE9O6Q7hgAs

2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALxA3TV3xGQ&feature=related

3) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mx0ZFrTTCFk

4) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_agUaE7Ffs

These are just few of the examples of very famous music musicians using quranic text to express themself. It hurts me to see how one group can stand and represent out whole uma (community). To make situation even more complex the artist and song in question are sang by a musilim artist himself.

If anything i was so happy to see MM go outside the box and use muslim artist in there artistic video game. Hate to see such a great achievement of a muslim artist pull back because of the minority being offened.

If muslims all over the world have accepted these singers and artist that use Quranic verse/words , then the individual  in complain should talk to them first. Please, dont be scare of the unknown.

thanks

PS: thanks MM and Sony

Re: LittleBigPlanet and Recall: From a Muslim

One guy complained and millions are now paying for that, the song was great and now due to one guy complaining millions will not get to hear the artistic talent of the artist. Later on the guy who sent the email then was apologizing for getting the game deleted, I mean come on creating a huffy over a song in LBP. It must be that I have grown up with very open minded Muslims which makes this situation seem out of control for me, they are religious but not to the point that they would complain about something so petty.

However ever religion has there over sensitive type, just really annoying one kid complained and due to that a game for the family was delayed

the links are not offinsive.. coz there isn't any (Quranic verses) in it...

and the offinsive thing is the mixing of Quran and Music..

I have nothing agaist Muslims this isn't the issue - if they don't want to mix religion with music that's fine, me personaly I don't religion mixing into anything. The issue is what the song translates to  "Every soul shall have the taste of death" and "All that is on earth will perish"  What the heck is this doing in a game - especially one like this.
They clearly just thought Oh this is a nice tune lets have this. Then where too lazy to find out what the heck the lyrics meant - ***** where they thinking!

Sony more than deserve the price of having to destroy and re-master those disks, what a stupid error.

The verse in context were mean

' every living thing will eventually die " hence , they will meet there maker at the end. It sounds harsh if you directly translate it, but its just a reminder that no matter what you do here, you still have to answere to god eventually

Re: LittleBigPlanet and Recall: From a Muslim

They're not verses from the Holy Quran...

and it means "there is no god but allah, Mohammed is prophet of allah"...
