Unfortunately, no.
Some of LBP2's updates are extremely large (Move Kit, Cross-Controller kit updates ect.) These updates are large, as they are adding major changes to the game-code. There are also very necessary game fixes that prevent major game-breaking bugs. The only thing to do, is start over and hope for the best.
Or contact your Internet Service Provider and see if your internet connection is indeed as good as you believe it is...

or with some updates that fix some errors only to give birth to new ones.
