Firstly, I'm going to start off saying, for the past year(+), I have enjoyed playing MAG with all of you. It had been great fun playing through all the game types as a newbie, not taking up rank because I didn't want to let people down or lead them astray. As a new player, people don't mind if you accidentally shoot them in the back, or ks them, repair a door in their face or just get a horrible, unsupportive score to assist your PMC.
You find yourself more experienced, so you take up rank. You do everything as well as you can. You lead the assault, you draw fire from your teammates because you're a nice leader. You call airstrikes where they need to be placed, and don't kill a single comrade. You place the current mission objective right where everyone needs it at that moment, and of course, you're never lacking of a revival kit, picking up anyone that falls, even by a grenade, cos you're tops...
You stay polite over the mic. No one else in your team has one however, so you keep it strictly game-plan: "good job person x", "behind you, player y", "I'll pick you up, z", "Squad of enemies behind the ___, use a grenade".
But yet, you find yourself constantly being voted by one abnoxious player, who thinks you arent playing good enough. sure, you mightnt be 1st place on the squad leaderboard, but hey, you aren't at the bottom either. Out of all the 256 people playing domination, and the 8 in your squad... suddenly, you, the person who had never been voted/vote kicked during Domination, even when accidentally blowing up your entire squad, is being kicked. in the last 5 mins. And suddenly the rest of the team blames the other sides collective skill on you, the boot succeeds.
What the ___ is wrong with you MAG community?
You take a squad leader/company leader/OIC and boot them purely because of rank?
because you cant take the blame?
because you think they are to blame?
No seriously, I am asking. Why do you do it? I ask people to tell me why they are trying to boot me - if they want leadership, if they just dont think Im leading that well, or if they are so stuck up, and ***** that someone is going to get 2nd MVP ahead of them, that they would rather boot the player, than let them stick around for 5more minutes to get their EARNED 4k exp.
But no. no one even messages. they keep on voting. they vote whilst in the center of an open area, with people bleeding out around them, doing nothing except voting.
Of all the reasons people choose to vote kick leaders, only 3 really stand out:
1) You are vote kicking a bad leader. - understandable. tell them. they can drop leadership and keep their exp. if they are still bad, continue voting.
2) You are vote kicking because you're a greedy ass who wants MVP - im sorry, but thats just unfair, poor sportsmanship, and you deserve to get spawn-blocked for the next 50 of your Dom matches... with unlimited airstrikes falling around you. You cant even blame the unfairness of squad-leader having Airstrike - a spawn blocked Dom leaders' only power is to set objectives.
3) You are just randomly voting people to be kicked out. A little more fair, because people will see through your hollow bs, and figure out it was you all along, once youre the only person who hasnt been voted. not as bad as 2, but youre still an ass.
But yet, many games, during the voting proceedure, I've abandoned rank to see what happens... No one continues with the boot. the next poor guy gets it.
How do you other Squad Leaders/Company Leaders/OIC's deal with this absurdity? many times ive just felt like shotgunning down every squad member. instead, I heal the people that hate me, and take the bullet that was meant for them. again and again.
And how do you general squad members feel, knowing a fair portion of you guys are just callous little glory seeking turncoats, with no care for other people, all the while knowing, one day this one day you will be in the same position, sitting on 1000+ or so pure base exp points, during happyhour , in a Dom match pulled from a maxed multique (+456% exp, incase you didnt know).. how would you feel being booted in the last 5 minutes without so much as a "[player x] subject: u not leading vry well, plz pass" appearing in the top right of your screen, prior to being booted? Because really, **** you. seriously.
