Lack Of Leadership?

I’ve been a MAG beta tester through all phases of testing but I have a couple of suggestion that may help the overall experience now it is fully released (sorry if these have been mentioned before)

a) To apply for Squad/Platoon leader & OIC MUST have comms.

I don’t know how easy this would be to apply to the game code but I feel it would give the best MAG gaming experience without restricting the number of player in the game (which everyone needs comms would have done) i.e if you don’t have/want to use comms you can’t apply for leadership roles but you can still play the game as a grunt. Far to many times I’ve played MAG the squad leader doesn’t communicate or even set specific objectives, this is counter productive and goes against everything MAG was/is supposed to be and doesn’t make the gaming experience very enjoyable. It shouldn’t be hit or miss that the squad leader should actually lead.

b) Before a Squad leader can start playing, an objective must be chosen

Pretty simple and carrying on from my previous point, I’ve been in battles where the squad leader hasn’t chosen any specific objectives for the rest of us to follow. This isn’t cool, especially if playing acquisition of domination.

Well that’s my 2 penny’s worth, please discuss. And if you are reading this Zipper, please try and do something about these issues, as they can be easily solved!

Re: Lack Of Leadership?

Would be nice. Several occasions me and my party have been ***** off by a squad leader or platoon leader without comms, so we can't go on platoon chat and communicate.

Re: Lack Of Leadership?

I have recently obtained Squad/Platoon leader, as you have said, you should know what you are doing

I dont have a clue on what should be done, so something which I think we should have is Suppression leader training, let players get the hang of being a leader, and when you go  into a game which requires leadership, you are ready

Re: Lack Of Leadership?

I am in agreement with the idea, but at the same time I think it would be very harsh on those that don't have a mic are forced from playing a major part of the game. Now, if the PS3 was supplied with an headset, then this would be a different story.

Instead, I would propose a penalty system. If the squad leader doesn't set any frago's all game (which most seem not to) then they will be stopped from being able to lead for next 5 games or so. Hopefully this will teach them that being a leader isn't just about glory, it's about leading.

Re: Lack Of Leadership?

No matter what cha sould nevr ever be compulsory no matter what the game, mode ect only if there were no fragos, which there are, I don't know why people desperatley want chat comms, I mean what extra can u do, I'm not gonna not be platoon or oci just because I have no mic, I bought the game, the option is availible and if u have got to oci or platoon it means that u have been playing as leader for quite a while, all that effort u deserve to be it, I'm not gonna not use a feature on my game, people say orders like get to the bunker when they have a frago, the only times chat is good is when teams don't listen and u can emphasis on commands, and yes u can say detailed commands like repairing a gun, I slightly agree with oci having mic saying that, but it ain't gonna stop me from being one, if I had MAG I would have a little keypad or keyboarf chat to make sure u getthe best experiance as possible, better than no chat or anything.

Re: Lack Of Leadership?

It doesn't restrict them from playing a game. You can't possibly lead anyone without a headset. If you don't have one you can't possibly give orders - so you should just try and do what the people who CAN give orders tell you what to do. You need to have a headset to even do this large part of the game - setting fragos and stuff isn't all the exciting, unless you have a headset. So technically, we're not restricting them - just stopping them from taking the place of someone who can make the most of the position.

Re: Lack Of Leadership?

Chat is better goes without saying, but not everyone has chat, plus I don't want to because I think my voice sounds child like, and it's not very good when someone else has no chat and utalk t ur team with no feedback, but I think this chat priority is what ur saing I would only think about doing that to oci, platoon and squad don't touch 'em, and text keyboard is chat, it would really be good to have that, with a keyboard or keypad it's easy to type. If u think about doing as something big as changing all the chat stuff, then adding text chat is great, so basically everyone with or without headsets and chat.

Re: Lack Of Leadership?

Text keyboard is chat, but no one uses it, and it's impossible to send a message to everyone.

Re: Lack Of Leadership?

I agree chat does help

One game I played last week, right from the min in the lobby platton leader, was telling everyone what to do, and in the game, order was getting passed on, I was told to heal and revive, and we won the game
