Being in SVER I have to possibilty of attacking 8 domination maps, 4 Aquisition, 2 Sabo's and 2 Suppression. 4 Domination, 2 Aquistion and 1 sabo for defence.
25 variations. plus when i change faction i'll get to experience the maps from a different perspective, which will increase the variations i play even more. when you compare that to the likes of CoD it's an amazing depth of gameplay.
I do not see how being in SVER gives you the option of playing 25 diffferent maps, each game mode has 3 maps.
You are playing as SVER, you get:
2 Domination maps to attack and 1 to defend
2 Sabo Maps to attack and 1 to defend
2 Aquisition maps to attack and 1 to defend
and 1 suppresion map.
That basically means that their is only ONE map per faction for each game mode, now if you timesed that figure by 2 then you would create a lot more experiences.
Whether it's free or paid for, I really hope ZI adds a map pack or a new game mode so I don't leave MAG once and for all once BFBC2 comes out....
Think he is talking about the fact that each map has more than 1 side which are very different from the point of attcking or defending tactics!

You think you should have to pay for DLC? The ammount of work that goes into producing that content isn't worth that much. Consider call of duty for example. 4 map packs totalling nearly £30. They are valueing some maps at 80% of the games original value...
DLC use to be free....now they start charging you. Now you accept being charged....
And yes, Not everyone buys DLC. This would split the gameing community slightly and I guess, considering the auto match makeing system, This would increase wait times for most people or just put the people with DLC addons into games that don't contain DLC.

Some developers create DLC because they want their fans to enjoy the game they payed for and so that their legacy can continue for longer.
Well... we can dream.
Reasons they would do it for free:
Get in Sony's good books
More likely to buy other games/MAG2
They find other ways of charging.
Can't think of many more. If they charge right the maps won't be worth so much though, so they might as well do it free.
Very true. They are in it for the money, there may be individuals within the organization that do it for the love but the organization requires profit as simple as that.. BTW I dont begrudge that at all, as long as it is a reasonable profit.

I think, as a sweetener, we should get some DLC for free. This should include some balanced maps where you both attack and defend eg CTF, or a salvage mission where both sides try to take over unmanned resources on Asymmetrical levels, like in a certain other online only game, which I can't for the life of me remember the name of......

What i would like to see is a cross platform map pack where PS3 owners could play Xbox360 owners (I'm obviously talking about games that are on both platforms, ie MW2 and such like). i think people would pay a premium for that (I sure as hell would).
I think the Developers, Sony and MS are missing a trick here, because if you offered something like that, where it would always be PS3 vs Xbox - (no mixed games as it would defeat the object), I just think the take up would be tremendous purely from a rivalry point of view. You'd have PS3 vs Xbox360 leaderboards etc etc, and what a laugh that would be - can you imagine the fun and games to be had.
You would have to charge something as otherwise Xbox owners might see it as a free alternative to Xbox live which would not do, but imagine the levels of teamwork that would suddenly appear on both sides with the chance to go into battle against "the other lot". I just think it would be great.
They wouldn't have to charge much, say £2-£5/month or so, and if you are MS based they could fix it such that you had to have an Xbox live membership to be able to take up the offer, so they didn't cannibilise Xbox live revenue. If you could have it for free then great, but if not, I don't think a small premium would be too much to ask for something like that.

Don't worry, they will add DLC. Why? Because there is no monthly fee in MAG. Unless Sony is planning forward and waiting for the psn-monthly payment change. Which would make sense that Sony wants people to play multiplayers. So it might even mean we get free DLC
