Try turning the sensitivity down from the xmb, it does help. I find it does pick up background noise, but most bluetooth mics are the same. For the best sound quality a decent USB mic, with background noise cancelling, is nearly always a better option than bluetooth. I just tend to stick with the wireless for ease of use. Good thing with MAG though is that the ingame noise cancelling means it doesn't pick up anywhere near the same amount of background noise that other games do. That said, some people complain of having to speak too loudly because of this!

i have a logitech clearchat pro usb, works great. but was about £35 i think so maybe a little pricey

This game needs bundling with a bluetooth mic, like Warhawk and SOCOM before it.

Saying that, I already have a mic, and I'm not just taking this pledge, I'm having it tattooed onto the inside of my eyelids.

With regards to the Official Microphone -

use the mute button when you're not speaking - PLEASE! That mic is ridiculously sensitive, so only unmute it when you're about to say something

Depends -

Platoon Leaders can broadcast messages to their entire platoon, to the squad leaders only or to their own squad. OIC's can talk to absolutely everyone on their team.

couldnt agree more . except that voip doesnt work properly in the lobby when your in a party . works fine in game , just not in the main lobby
