Re: lag problems unplayable

I can only say that I have not experienced any lag while playing MAG and I have a talk talk basic 8mb package hardwired to my PS3.

No, psn is free so we do not pay towards the mantaince, Live is payed for so thay have the best servers and more freqent mantaince.
It's all ready been stated there are no plans to do so, but thay are looking into ways to fund better sever tec etc. I heard of a subcription that gives accses to all betas and one that gives you credit for your trophys. These were just ideas but like the trophy idea.

Oh and I have Visual Route on PC which allows to ping ANY server, and it shows me all the hops inbetween my end and the server end. And guess what? My router and connection and perfectly fine? So whos fault is it?

First of all mate, stop flaming and multi-posting. You'll receive nothing but spite in return.

Secondly, you're new to these forums, so dont just come on here posting like you're the one truth of justice with all the answers and everyone must listen to you.

Thirdly, it is your internet settings and it is no-one elses fault. I have no problems with connection on this game, and I am one of the people who usually has the problems.

If the servers were really as bad as you say they are on a game like this, I think a hell of a lot more people would have noticed.

Now, if you had come on here with a polite argument rather than just flaming like its the end all of existence, I might have been a bit more inclined as to believe you or accept what you're saying, but since you just simply shout and moan until people listen to you, I'm just going to ignore everything you're saying.

Go on. Keep moaning. Keep flaming. Hell, why not even troll a bit to get the full set while you're at it!

EDIT:

You posted above me.

Go on. Keep shouting. It'll get you nowhere.

I can safely assure anyone that says "I have no lag" that they need to go to space school and drink the fruity milkshakes there...because your saying that "Light travels instantly"

Lag happens on every game, But every game handles lag differently.

I've seen MAG been played at 3 peoples houses now and its all the same. No difference. We all have good connections and different ISPs. Sky, BT and virgin. 10-20mb lines. Yadda yadda...

Alot of the time though, you are connected to people on the other side of the world. the lag between 2 players is different and it can be extreme as watching people go very slowly, then rapidly run 20 meters in a split second to slow down, and repeat...

----

Anyone who says "there is no lag", ignorant or fan boy =)

This game is still enjoyable...But there are improvements that can be made. How do I know that improvements can be made? Well, Call of Duty 2 had 128 player servers and they handled very well.Technology has got better...So surely there should be an improvement. But one of the major factors that I would probobly consider to be contributing to the lag is that this game is on the PS3 and not the PC. Not sure how though =) I wish I could find out the details on that.

---

In terms of being unplayable. No it isn't unplayable. Its still very much playable and still enjoyable even though your shot from around a corner from time to time. It would be MORE playable if that didn't happen though.

MAG 2 PC ?

Mainly looking at the first part of your post, all I can say is........wow........

I mean......WOW.

Are you seriously trying to put us in the wrong by simply being a complete stat freak?

Of course there's always lag! It's just that the average human being (or any organic life form for that matter) doesn't notice the 0.01 second time delay it takes for electricity to travel that kind of distance.

That's why the majority of the populace will use the term lag in reference to any unnecessary times that are added on to that natural travelling speed.

Also, when you mention that we must be saying that light travels instantly and that we are wrong......seriously, stop going geek-fu on our asses  ¬_¬

As with the electricity statement above, Light travels at approximately 186,000 miles per second, so I dont think the average human being has any need to take that minute level of 'lag' into account when forming opinions.

Re: lag problems unplayable

I like Miki_Mundi have the talk talk 8mb package. Last time I checked I was getting nowhere near the 8mb and I have had no lag in 37 hours of playing MAG and I've played all game modes. And this includes when my father is using the internet on you tube or skype and I'm playing music through you tube at the same time as I'm playing MAG.

Sorry for those who are experiencing lag, and although Sony may acknowledge it to you, I don't see it and I don't have a large connection. 1gb download usually takes between 40-60 minutes. I get lag only in games where a user is the host like COD for example.

Re: lag problems unplayable

..he's right, though. You get extra server-side lag pretty much all the time now. Whether it's overload, or just an increased set limit, I don't know. But it's pretty bad sometimes. Consistently bad. This is different from during the beta.

There's also individually different client lag. You used to get kicked if you lagged too much. Now people are just warping around, or get the "knifed from 30m", "shotgunned from across the map", "LMGed in 0.1 seconds by enemy not yet visible on your screen". This is also different from the beta (and before the first patch) when you were "rubber-banded" if you didn't register on the server properly.

My guess is that the consistency measures started to fight with the servers, and they just turned them off. But.. whatever the reason, you're not getting the best experience with MAG at the moment.

Of course - if "people" on the intertron is still fawning over how awesome the game is, why should Sony invest in better and more servers? No reason why they should do that. In the same way, the ones who can't connect at all are much louder than people who can connect, but aren't getting a very good service. I.e., those people just say: "what is this?" and start to dislike the game.

Which Sony and Zipper obviously prefers. The way they're patching the game also seems intent on reducing the online population down to that of Killzone 2. So I'm assuming all is going according to plan.
