I was not suggesting it is what people absolutely do but to deny that there is some people who will wish to get the platinum in the least amount of time possible is undeniable and hopefully the above helps them Reduce the tedium by getting as many emblems in a playthrough as you can. Regardless, there are quite a large number of emblems that are not exactly enjoyable to achieve (the very grindy emblems are a prime example) yet that does not mean that there isn't a satisfaction in unlocking every emblem (if there wasn't, people [myself included] would not have got them before trophies came to the game).

Don't tell people their opinion is 'not true'. lol You don't know how difficult I expected the trophies to be, so you can't say how much easier they actually are now I've seen them. That's for my brain to choose XD

And Playfire.com is full of people who worry so much about how many trophies they can get from one playthrough... it's like they don't WANT to have to play their games, if there was a game you could platinum without finishing the story, NONE of those people would know the ending.

Re: MGS4 Trophy List Released

Yeah, it's kind of funny when you see people complain about trophies that require more than one playthrough.

I remember getting the Star Ocean 4 platinum (one of the hardest) in a pretty inefficient manner. I ended up hating the game when I was through with it all but I played through it about 4 or 5 times from start to finish. I think a full year passed between my first and last trophy for that game too... heh.

Dragon's Dogma has one where it says 'Complete the Adventure twice'. And people were moaning about that one.
EDIT: Here's a quote from Gamefaqs, someone asked if it's true that you get a new ending for doing it twice...
"I've beat it 3x but after the first time I honestly just skipped the ending. I have all the trophies for all the endings, but I can't say I've seen any different ending xD"

That's how people think thanks to trophy OCD haha

Good point, but I am curious, what did you realistically expect that is much more difficult than what has been received, taking into account that 100% of the game needs to be done to get a Platinum?

I play a game beacuse of the story and gameplay presented to me. The trophies are a nice little bonus but not the main reason I play a game.

TBH, I wish there was an option for turning off trophy notifications as I don't like being interrupted with pop-ups on my first playthrough of a game.

Re: MGS4 Trophy List Released

I've always wanted to opt out of the trophy card business but we're stuck with it because Microsoft proved that people buy games just for the achievements, so Sony needed it's own version.

And to answer Solid_Snake12345:
I have seen many games where the trophies are a separate affair from the already established in game rewards. Something to go for AFTER you have finished all the game had to offer as regards unlockables... these trophies are just 'yes I did the normal ranks and unlocks' there are no real trophies that give a new challenge, sure there's that one where you have to make Snake Puke...
But anyway yes, the trophies are all rewards for stuff that is in the strategy guide, like a tick list, rather than challenges for a gamer to try out like... I dunno, Kill 5 FROGS with headshots in a row? Knock a guard into another guard by rolling or CQC strikes? That kinda thing.

For some reason I read this like the way Snake says, "War as a video game, what better way to raise the ultimate soldier?" Haha.

Anyway the trophies, assuming there will be secret ones then, I suppose some will be complete an act and beating the bosses? So that'll be like... 10+.

The ones listed look easy although I have no idea for some, like the Solar Gun, I can't remember how you even get that. XD (Buy from Drebin? I dunno haha.)

But anyway looking forward to playing MGS4 again.

I'll be watching all the cutscenes and codec conversations just like I did when I played the HD Collection.

Edit: "Kill 5 FROGS with headshots in a row?"

That reminds me of Uncharted haha. =)

But I do get what you mean Garry.

Re: MGS4 Trophy List Released

To get the Solar Gun:

Spoiler
You need to get the trophies/small statues for the FROGS and each member of the B&B Corps by defeating each of them through non-leathal methods (The FROGs ambush in Act 1 and the B&B boss battles). Though, remember you can defeat each B&B member in their Beast form through lethal methods :smileywink:
