I have seen many games where the trophies are a separate affair from the already established in game rewards. Something to go for AFTER you have finished all the game had to offer as regards unlockables... these trophies are just 'yes I did the normal ranks and unlocks' there are no real trophies that give a new challenge, sure there's that one where you have to make Snake Puke...
But anyway yes, the trophies are all rewards for stuff that is in the strategy guide, like a tick list, rather than challenges for a gamer to try out like... I dunno, Kill 5 FROGS with headshots in a row? Knock a guard into another guard by rolling or CQC strikes? That kinda thing.

Oh I see, that is much clearer then and I understand what you mean now. The one thing that I would suggest would satisfy that sort of hope is the "model" trophy which is, as you hoped for, a seperate matter to the in-game rewards. The only thing that may have ruled out certain elements such as what you were hoping for is that the game may not be able to recognise certain events in the current condition and as such it would require some tampering with the game to add support for such trophies when that didn't seem to be the plan (as the trophies seem to be added solely because of the new budget release in Japan so I don't think they intended to greatly implement them). The one thing that may happen however is a Subsistence-like version of the game being released in which case they would know from the very beginning that trophies have to be added and thus they could be implemented greater.

As SolidNinjaSnake made reference to, for something like Uncharted it was different as the game was already tracking such events and I presume that it was therefor easier to add such trophies in that game.

I enjoy trophies, I've yet to get a single plat, but I enjoy getting them it's rewarding. I'll still probably not plat MGS4, but I was gonna play it anyway as I play through the MGS games really.

You can use the Scanning Plug or the syringe
