Re: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

yeah to be honset i just think they were looking to make more money so they made a spin off game and just gave it the MGS label but its not even part of the series and it looks bad. all the stuff you see raiden do in the trailers is just for show i bet when we get hold of the game the gameplay will be nothing like what we seen.

Re: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

I  usually don't rant as a rule. But after seeing the complete abomination of a game that MGSRR will be, I feel the need. I see now that it is set after MGS4. After Raiden had his cybernetics removed and decided to settle as a father. After RAY became obsolete to the smaller lighter GEKKO.

If this game is supposed to be a spin off, what business have the developers calling it Metal Gear Solid? This game has gone from a day 1, to not at all.

Its not the same style, it doesnt follow and of the patterns of MGS (cutting RAY in half, after it attacked Raiden with a giant orange glowing sword?) At least Rising was in the same style, albeit a slightly different slant on gameplay. There is no reason that MGSR couldnt have followed Assassin's Creed type gameplay.

And Revengeance? It isn't even a word! Revenge? Vengeance? Arent they the same thing anyway?

I am usually blase about games, if its bad, its bad. But being such a massive fan of the MG series, I feel appalled and angry that Kojima has let this abortion of a game carry the MGS name.

And if it was too impractical to make a game like Rising as a full game, why not include it as a section in MGS5

Metal Gear Solid 5 better be good and have cutscenes of at least 6 hours

Re: Kojima Comments About Rising Change

The original Rising project looked like that style of gameplay. Revengeance looks like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta.

Its metal gear, not metal gear solid, and its non canonical, i.e. not part of the story. We've had spin offs before, acid and acid 2 for instance and I wasn't partiularly bothered by them. So why have such an issue with rising?

My personal issue, is not the direction the games going in, the lack of plot, the cheesy voice acting, the change in developer, the lack of continuity, the lack of Kojima (I'll stop now), these things annoy me, but I'm not buying it, so they wont really be a problem.

My issue is the first trailer, the 'cut anything' mantra and the 'hunter stealth' game mechanics and the fact that the game was poised to fill in a gaping plot hole, it looked incredible!

Its essentially the "If you take away a childs sweets and give the child an apple..." thing if I'm honest.

Re: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

I think if I was disrespectful and...an idiot. This is one of those places I'd say "u mad bro?"

I think you got worked up too much, if the fans got to choose what was in a game how would we ever progress? People would be freaking out and stopping any slight changes to the game. That said, this is a drastic change, hence it's new title... with NO solid in it.

Re: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Hi guys,

Just edited the first post in this thread as after a quick look I realised it wasn't very welcoming for newcomers - added some links to info, some links to our two MGO events and also a couple of videos.

Feel free to keep throwing up links to any new news that you comes across and when I have time I will gladly keep updating the first post :smileyhappy:

That looked really dumb, if I'm going to be brutally honest.
