The Trophy support will be included out the box with "PlayStation 3 The Best" budget version of MGS4 in August. Current MGS4 owners will be able to patch their copy of the game.

The MSG4 online multiplayer was shut down earlier this year, with a release of the game with trophys it will be pretty silly without it. If they not remove that option from the game completly, new buyers will feel they are not getting the full game experiemce. So lets hope there also will be a reopning of a improved online multiplayer to.

So they were saving the trophy patch for when the game is re-released in it's Bargain Bin form... haha.

EDIT: Or maybe the new Ps3 The Best version simply counts as a new release and therefore has to have trophies on it...

No doubt SNS will platinum it on the day that the patch is released.

I was going to replay MGS4 after I finished the HD collection so the trophies don't really have a big impact on me. I just see this as a sad reminder that MGO was shut down last month, and I imagine that the new patch will remove that option from the main game menu since its no longer used.

It's probably going to be like GTAIV for me... played it and had my fill ages ago, then they released trophy patch, didn't really bother with it anyway.
