I'm so pleased to hear about trophies FINALLY coming to this great game. I've been holding out on playing through again for 4 years now for this very reason, lol!

It is a shame that MGO was shut down but the incredibly complex entry procedure would look pretty embarrassing today. I suspect that the new edition will show no sign of MGO and it would make sense that the patch removes it from the original game's menu too.

I can't wait to see the trophy list, just hope they're not as tough as the original in game emblems!

Well I guess this news will please everyone who have been begging and waiting for a trophy patch for MGS4 and it's finally happening. (If it's happening.)

And they can't get rid of the MGO option! Then my casing for it will be lying to me! =(

Now, if only SEGA could release a trophy patch for Valkyria Chronicles too

I wish I could down-vote the people who have not played MGS4 because it hasn't got trophies.
That's like me not wanting to buy a magazine because it didn't come with a poster this week, or not wanting to finish a book because there is nobody to clap and say well done. XD

Its definitly happening, the official Facebook MGS page posted saying this:

"The long-awaited Trophy patch to METAL GEAR SOLID 4 is in development! This will coincide with a new budget-priced version of the game with Trophy support. We will continue to update this page as details become available, coming soon"

Bit too late imo, cba playing through it for like the 10th time just to get trophies.

Oh indeed... one of my biggest facepalms of late was reading ps3trophies.org, and somebody was angry and decided to boycot the Ratchet HD Collection because all the skill points involved made the Platinums too hard.... seriously?

Trophies do add a bit of incentive and replay for me, but I'd never not play a game because I couldn't plat it... If that was the case I wouldn't buy any games with multiplayer, including the Assassins Creed spin-offs... I love the AC games, but I don't do online multiplayer... I can still sleep fine at night only having 50% trophy completion in those games... and the likes of Red Dead Redemption...

On topic... I've been meaning to replay this game... I have to admit I only played it the once.. but I replayed MGS in anticipation of the HD Collection last year... held off on the HD when I knew I was getting a Vita, and are now loving MGS3 again... so trophies included could add to the incentive for me..
