Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes
Developed by Kojima Productions and produced by Konami It will be the ninth entry in the Metal Gear series, and will be the first to have an open world gameplay structure. Director Hideo Kojima confirmed that Big Boss will return as the game's protagonist in a story that will serve as a prologue to Metal Gear Solid 5.
There aren't a lot of details available at the moment but some of the feedback from the event mentions that the action took place in an open environment and Snake was driving a truck at some point because that's the stealthy thing to do these days. I haven't seen enough information yet to decide how I feel about this, though I'm anticipating this more than Rising.
Also, where was Metal Gear Online 3?!?! :catsad:
There was no mention about it being only on PC, it was just that the demo that they showed was on a very high end PC. Most likely, it could be a launch title for next gen, who knows?
I quite excited tbh. I believe they can't really mess it up, so here's hoping I'm right.
Also, hopefully Afro Akiba will be able to make a return :(
Well if it is for next gen consols which I think it is gonna be. If there ever was a game that Sony needs to secure as an Exclusive title for the PS4 then its this title right here because quite frankly I doubt I'll be getting a PS4 but if MGS was exclusive then I'd have no choice.
Just in case anyone missed it :catvery-happy:
"According to GameSpot, the 20-minute demo for the open-world stealth title kicked off with a chap in a business suit being escorted to a military installation by an armed patrol unit. As rain pummels the base, the man has a chinwag with a young boy trapped in a cage, and tosses him a music player.
The child turns it on and the track ‘Here’s To You’ from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots plays. For those who need their memories refreshed, it’s the track that plays during the credits of Solid Snake’s swansong, as seen here.
On with the demo, and the man removes his hat to reveal burns and scars across his features. He then wipes an emblem off the side of his chopper which displays the letters XOF (or FOX backwards), discards a heap of XOF emblems and then departs.
“From FOX, two phantoms were born” then appears on screen, which refers to either Zero and Big Boss or Liquid and Solid Snake. Big Boss shows up next wearing visors, which he flips up to reveal his eye patch and trademark mullet.
Attendees were then shown some gameplay, which saw Big Boss navigating his surroundings in full-on stealth mode. It was also confirmed that our grizzly hero can call on a chopper for assistance and control a jeep, with shooting ostensibly taking place from a third-person perspective."
Don't really know where all the next-gen talk came from...
I've only read about it on Andriasang, but they quoted Famitsu in saying "Ground Zeroes targets current generation specifications, with the demo running on a PC at the level of PS3 and Xbox 360. Famitsu reports that Kojima Productions is also working on next generation development."
Ah, so I guess this is what all that "open world" talk from a while back was for.
Interesting stuff... Would like to see it. =)
Twitter rumour time! Sounds like they might be showing off the footage of the new Metal Gear at some point today to the public :O
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Is A Prologue To Metal Gear Solid 5
"Big Boss is back: and he's the star this time. He can use a helicopter to fly around the world, going between countries and taking on missions."
