Is there a way to obtain RP outside of official tournaments, survivals & promotional offers? To my knowledge there isn't but I keep reading things like this -

Notice of Change in Reward Matches

After the scheduled maintenance on June 23 2009, the rate of occurrence and amount of reward points given for Reward Matches has changed.

EX Lobby
-Rate of occurrence: 100%
-Reward Points:
1. Team Battles - 50RP for all members of winning team
2. Individual Battles - 100RP for the Winner

Regular Lobby (Including Beginners)
-Rate of occurrence: 100%
-Reward Points:
1. Team Battles - 30RP for all members of winning team
2. Individual Battles - 60RP for the Winner

We have also changed the RP given for participating players from 20RP to 10RP.

......and well i get confused.

That's for Automatching, which is the only other way, other than what you indicated, of earning reward points.

Basically you can earn rewards points in all lobbies, except Free Battle and Training.
