So say I'm searching and downloading different User Created Content then as I'm downloading a great Mod of Mal from the TV Show Firefly I am now thinking to my self: "Hmmm. Self. I need a kart for my Malcom Renolds worthy of him, but to do so I'm going to have to hope the creator of this Mod has a Kart suted to him in his own creations or go out and run a text search myself."

This is silly.

We need a 4th option in downloads. I would like to see package downloads where a User can group together content as a Mod / Kart / or Track for all three or just two for a package. Maybe even give us the Users the option to create mix/match packages of our own making (ex: Super man Mod riding in a Spider-man Kart).

Does anyone else feel this would be a good idea? At least a time saver if anything?

I've been thinking this for a while! Or at least the option to sort the order of uploaded mods and also the option to pair mods with karts so they appear next to each other under our creations.

My mods are often downloaded but people overlook the fact that I've made karts to go with them, which I think is a shame. For me it's the overall combination that is true creativity!

Yes, I completely agree.

I really hope something like this gets noticed by the community as I feel it would improve the quality experience in downloading and uploading User Created Content.

And give us yet another way of being creative while at the same time being practical in saving search time for downloads to match our other downloads.

An Amazon styled "People who bought this also bought" kind of thing after you download a Mod, Kart or Track would be nice.

Or a recommended or relevant downloads thing inside the menu that tells you to vote on creations.

A packaging system might change a lot about how the game manages downloads, so I don't think it would be the best idea.

Plus it would bypass a lot of voting options, like if you like a kart in a package but not the mod, you'd have to decide which one you're pinning the stars on, the kart or the mod.

Amazon style is not a bad idea...it would follow the mold of what the PSN store shall be doing shortly.

If the Packaging system would be made a different category entirely each user could mix/match and create their own packages. Then the originator or those that re-mix it could get votes on both as they would be separate from each other by user that put the package together.

But then wouldn't that defeat the purpose of packaging in the first place?

I thought it was meant to be for convenience, if they're entirely different things with seperate stats from the original creations, they would need their own place in the ModSpot.

This and, by not giving the Mods and Karts the promotion they need as seperate entities, it would just fall into the same syndrome as they do now, by not getting the other creations into the spotlight.

Sort of just overcomplicating the system with something it doesn't need more of.

how many downloads would you get with a package ? if you package a auto populated track with a randomized kart along with a popular mod you could assure no less than 3 downloads no matter how crappy the other two creations .

Why not have a tick list instead, so you can choose what you want to download as a bulk rather than downloading each mod, kart and track individually, or downloading a pack with an exclusive mod and then deleting all the other stuff you don't want to use.

For example, when viewing creations there's a small circle next to the mod/kart/track. Pressing X would add/remove a small orange tick from the box, and to the right of the creation's there's a box that says download, what you click to download all of those objects you selected. At the top or the bottom of the creations there are packages, and when selected this ticks/unticks all of the creations in the group, corresponding to the tick on the pack. Eg, if a pack was ticked, all of the items would also be ticked, however, they can be removed manually by clicking them to remove their ticks.

Probably badly explained, but it's 3:20 in the morning here and my elaborative skills will be drained.

Point is, to allow for bulk downloading and queuing, they'd have to change the way the server handles downloads as well as the player interface to a large degree.

They can't handle the load as it is, you might as well be asking them to put a 10 ton weight on top of the thing.

I think it is a great idea. Like a creator can like sell "bundles" of his choice of theme... like you download as one, his kart,mod and track. 

like I dont know.. lets say for example I made a Uncharted theme course, mods and karts. Il upload em, and like say... "fonzthegreat uncharted homage pack!" with a description and its own ratings ofcourse. 

let users like also package items not created by them, kinda like mixing. But ofcourse, lessen the XP
