DLC Sale

[ Edited ]

Ages ago we were teased with the idea that there would be a sale soon of the MNR DLC, yet nothing has materialised. C'mon for godsake, you gave EVERY piece of DLC to the Vita players (all 12 of them lol) and they only paid £30 for the game, yet you're expecting us to shell out well over £100 if we want every piece of DLC made for the game on PS3 (still the vastly superior platform, even with all RT's bells and whistles hiding it's inadequacies, like a grown man driving a Humvee!)

MNR is dying a little more every week unfortunately, player numbers are declining constantly, (hotlap yesterday: 750 plays, pathetically low) the VIta which was supposed to be the holy grail is dying on its ass thanks to no online racing (dumbest decision EVER) and appalling framerate issues and SD Studio's have done nothing to allay players concerns, aside from a cryptic "we may look into considering patching in some online racing in the future... if we can be bothered!"

So what better way to get players back into the game, drum up more interest by having a massive DLC blowout sale? I mean, the game's been out nearly two years and can be picked up for about £10-15 brand new in most shops and online retailers BUT with no GOTY edition players are still being nickel and dimed when it comes to the add-on content. Bad enough you made all this extra effort for a Vita game NOBODY is playing, giving them all these fancy features we've been seeking for years, but to continue to charge top dollar for the DLC that can help to extend your product? Just bad business sense man. :Shame:

Oh dear, this appears to have turned into a bit of a rant, hasn't it? :smileyvery-happy:

Please use plain text.

It turned to be a rant, actually.

We'll live forever paying expensive DLC in every darn game.

I don't know what else to say

Uh.

Rant or not, this is the exact same way I feel about this game. And in my opinion, what could help give MNR a much-needed breath of fresh air would be...

...a major patch adding the features of the Vita version of the game, including compatibility with its creations.

With this hypothetical v2.0 patch, one can now create tracks on the move on the Vita and then later play them on the PS3, as well as changing significantly the way the game plays due to all the new weapons and mechanics added in that game, for example.

Yes, SDS has made several terminally dumb moves on porting MNR to the Vita, but they still have a chance to redeem themselves.

Spoiler
But let's face it, the sad, cold and cruel reality is that Sony does not give a flying **** about MNR anymore -- they just want it dead ASAP to focus on the upcoming LBPKart, since LBP is a cash cow compared to this game.

03/2011 - 08/2012. These were some memorable 17 months.
This is the end, my only friends. I'm moving on to other things, as ModNation has given me all it could give.

I've lost all hope. Not going to spend a single penny on this game anymore.

Ah man.... I saw the title on the homepage and thought, 'finally they've heard our cry, and put the dlc on sale!', but then I click on it and all that happiness went down the drain. :smileysad:

I'm getting tired of these false hopes too.  There's a lot of dlc that I'd like to buy, but I can't justify the prices anymore!  To think I can get 2 or 3 entirely new games for the price of the remaining dlc left to buy... it's just not worth it.

Unfortunately I wouldn't expect anything to come by now.  I don't know if DLC was something that was controlled by UFG; but even if it were in San Diego's hands I wouldn't look forward to anything.  I've learned that when someone in the corporate world does a "We'll see", "It's currently being discussed", or "We'll get back to you on that", it really means you're not going to hear from them again, sadly.  They just do whatever it takes to keep people quiet.

(And for those thinking I'm just talking about Mark, I'm not.)

As previously has been said long ago by me, new patches will not come out, the game's left and that's all. I've been losing too much hope in many games, yet my frustation couldn't be much acid finding how dissapointing are the popular ones (ME3, SSX, Capcom and the list goes endless). Gaming is getting sicker and sicker, money hungry al lthe way.i don't want to get my hopes up, i'm done dreaming.

This, In a nutshell. I was excited, and yes I agree. I want new dlc, I've already spent $40, which is how mush I spent on the game, and I am NOT going to spend any more until we get a decrease. Seriously SDS, this is getting stupid. If we must, we will leave the game. Ridge Racer Unbounded had a great looking editor, and if we wanted when that came out we could leave this game to die. Because it will, unless you give us a reason not to. The servers are slowing, no dlc drops... The game hasn't been patched in a year. And do come here and say 'we'll get back to you'. I'm sick of this crap you are feeding us. If it's not going to happen just tell us. It would be much better than waiting for eternity.

It's not Mark's fault, but Mark, don't try to cover up, or give us a solution.

Please guys, DON'T let MNR die.

I say this is a part of Sony's masterplan. They are letting this game wither slowly while taking maximum profits from the few HC players that want all DLC regardless. This way they will force MNR players to jump aboard LBP: Karting right when it comes out.

Don't expect much love for Modnation anymore.

Actually I'm starting to hate Sony these days, almost as much as those money grabbing gits EA! :smileysad: there are rumours on Kotaku today that the PS4 will be released in 2013 and Sony are expected to have incredibly strict DRM measures meaning the pre-owned game market will be dead and you'll need to have an "always on" internet connection to play anything you buy.

If this is the future of gaming then I'm OUT, F you money grabbing corporations! :Argh:
