Thought the same when i saw MNR tbh!
But it looks like LBP:K is the closest we'll get to a MNR2 so i'll give it a chance.
Anyways....back on topic...DLC sale coming "soon" (maybe!) w00t!

It was kinda directed at MNSD too. I feel like he's trolling us.
Regarding LBPK, every MNR friend I've talked to has said basically the same thing: They don't like the way it looks. And that alone is enough to get them to not buy it. At this point, only my hardcore karting friends are planning on picking it up.

Fact of the matter is, I'm peeved at Sony for dumping the MNR franchise and resorting to the kiddie-friendly gimicky as hell LBP approach. Sure, it might be a more functional editor in LBP: Karting, because they will take what they have in MNR (they honestly don't appreciate how powerful a tool they've created) and make it better based on 2 years of feedback that has apparently fallen on deaf ears. BUT, you'll have to put up with making tracks with giant marshmallow clouds and oversized garden ornaments, completely destroying the excellent (and original) art style that MNR created in the first place.
Why can't they just leave LBP do it's jumpy, swingy thing and let UFG make a PROPER sequel to Modnation Racers that all the fans want to see. ![]()

But Mark, have you seen the player numbers recently? It's pretty appalling, players are dropping like flies and pretty soon it's only gonna be a handful of dedicated creators and racers left... and then Sony will have won, completely destroying the MNR name whilst simultaneously heralding LBP: Karting as the best thing since sliced ham.

For how long, a year. Will the DLC drop when the servers close?

Well there you go, confirmation that a DLC sale is coming soon!
If it doesn't then blame the Wilson!

the Wilson = the man? love it!
I understand everyone's frustration but I have always been honest with the community. I can only communicate what I know.
Its frustrating for me too sometimes. I know the mention of a DLC sale got us excited and no news on that front has become a sore spot. I tried to lob over a *cough* as a my way of saying... .
Again I can't announce something I don't have details on. I've never trolled, never will. I do understand players current skepticism with all thats going on but not everything that seems negative is. As one example the Vita and Road Trip are doing well, probably causing slow servers (overall), and current lower player counts on PS3. In the big picture thats not necessarily a negative. It's growing pains and game life span. Let's put it this way, San Diego Studio employs a full-time community manager for the ModNation Franchise. Thats a good sign. For both of us!
All I can say is that I am not ignoring anyone. I just don't want to post a bunch of (I don't know / I'm not sure / your guess is as good as mine) every week. That would only frustrate the community more (as an example watch how my comments here will possibly become interpreted and responded to. just sayin').
I wish I could offer an answer to every question but for many reasons (above +) I can't. I hope you understand.

I have!

OT: Yay a DLC sale, the problem is that most of us have bought all the DLC that we really want. I won't really use any more stuff, (maybe the pirate but the rest are not great IMO), LBP will probably be better in the way that it is made but the syle of it is not natural and all cardboard and oversized household objects. The reason why LBP was good was, by using the materials, you could create natural stuff but creating stuff in 3D just won't work...
