I Love it When Developers Won't Give You a Straight Answer!

Hi everyone, in case you haven't already seen, UFG has an article posted on the Playstation Blog about the upcoming LBPK game.  Under the comments I decided to ask whether they had any intentions of working on a 2nd MNR.  However, they decided not to reply to me, but they did answer another player's question which was pretty much the same thing I asked.  Here was their response:

Now where in the reply does he ever actually answer what the player was wanting to know about?  Is there some kind of lawsuit I don't know of?  Like if they say they're going to make MNR 2, but they never do, then somebody can sue them?

I don't know, it's just frustrating when they dodge the question.  Developers, unfortunately, are starting to remind me too much of politicians.  :Shame:

I read the reply as "No, there won't be a MNR2, but MNR1 is still there, go play that or even better buy LBPK".

Oh Livingstoni :3

No anyway, it's a simple "No get lost, go cry and waste your money on LBK".

Such a lame excuse using the "active" for this game, sure, there are many creations and bla bla, but 99% (always 1% left) wants MNR2, an evolution of this game. And you know Sony's all behind this, darn it.

It was better not even answering.

Uh.

Lol, I almost forgot about that!  I thought it was pretty funny how he was trying to make it sound like something that's never been done before, when people who have played MNR know that's not the case.  I prefer sideswiping instead of slapping.  It's just so much more fun to slam your kart into someones elses!

I wish LBP would have just stuck with what it's good at.  It's a great platformer, with it's own fantastic community; But why bring it into the karting genre?  I can't get over how ugly everything looks in the trailers they show.  It's all recycled garbage!  I like MNR with it's city landscapes and overall design.

Unfortunately, as everyone has already said, I'm having a very hard time believing we're going to see a sequel to MNR.  Which saddens me. :xCry:

Well to be fair game developers are in the business to make money.

They don't do it to past the time or please a minority of fans of a certain game. Apparently MNR either didn't sell that well or didn't sell as much as expected, and i'm guessing that by the time they finally started releasing DLC and fixes/improvements via patches (loading times, connection problems) a lot of first time buyers gave up on MNR which would have lead to a drop in potential DLC sales & an increase in pre-owned copies of the game being sold (which the dev's get nothing from).

So UFG are doing what any of us in a similar position would do - add what they have to an already proven well selling brand and reap the rewards.

People seem to think that because LBPK is been made then that's why MNR2 ISN'T been made, well imo even if LBPK didn't exist, MNR2 wouldn't either.

I for one am looking forward to LBPK. Give it a chance.

A PS3 game has to sell at least 400000 copies in order to be released as a Platinum title.

Sales for MNR are :

North America:0.41m43.9%
+ Europe:0.33m35.0%
+ Japan:0.06m6.7%
+ Rest of the World:0.14m14.4%
= Global0.94m
