I've checked quite a few of the MNR haters mnr profiles and most of them don't have a profile, meaning they never played the game, or have zero xp which means they never created anything or raced online. A lot of morons in the beta forums. There are a couple people that "get it" but not very many.

I like it for the racing but I agree the creating part is kinda lame. I will probably get it when its cheap.

This is very hard to say as I was so looking forward to the possibilities the new game would offer but unfortunately it looks like I'll be getting me creating fix from elsewhere in future.
As soon as the NDA is lifted I'll be a lot more specific about my issues with the game, but for now I have to be content with a practically dead EU beta forum, seeing as they made a very dumb idea to segregate the EU and US beta forums.
Suffice to say, I feel extremely foolish for getting so worked up about the delay in getting a code...

Really? For me it's the opposite. I hate the whole racing experience, but I actually quite like the track studio. Not better or worse than MNR, just different. But mod and kart stuff sucks. Probably not a first day buy for me either.

Kart Tweaker XD
1. MNR
2. Mario Kart
3. LBPK
You have way too much precision. Cornering is a joke. Also, all the boosts whatever the drift time seem to have the same duration, and I don't feel like I'm going faster. MK visibly increases your speed, and MNR has boost.
What makes me sad about this game is that placing props is harder than in MNR, which is quite sad.
And the materials are incredibly gimped, even though they're the CORE of LBP. I don't even want to get close to logic for now. Even UFG knows they can't do much since they literally took one step forward two steps back by removing most of the rotators and movers and going back to pistons.
Also, the Grapple Hook is pretty pointless since you can't hang forever, it automatically lets go, and you can't steer in the air. I'd have liked being able to choose a path by steering the hook and being able to lengthen / retract the hook with R2 / L2 since it was a feature in LBP.
The worst part about creating is the lack of test drive and that everything is in the perpetual pause mode. In MNR, there was Test Drive and in LBP, there was pause / play. Those were very useful. I have to race half the track to get to an item I put a rotator on to see if it works. Of course, it doesn't work. Also, the signs can't be dynamic like in MNR because they're too thin to stand up...
There may be a part two to this rant.

But you CAN hang forever with the grappling hook... Play that factory deathmatch level.

I agree with most of the stuff you mentioned, but this??? Just press down on the d-pad when you are hovering, and it puts you into test drive. Very easy. Am I missing something?

Oh, well I managed to get in the kart, but I couldn't do anything afterwards so I was confused. forgive me.
And the infinite grappling, it seems you have to tweak it. Fine.

The ONLY thing i Like from this game is to change the colour of everything in your level. My dream of blinding racers can come true,
