Mod/Kart choice reset when reentering the game?

Sometimes exiting the game then coming back to it results in the previous mod or kart being replaced with Tag or his Kart. Why does this happen?

 

Only seems to happen with downloaded creations, and even them it's not all of them.

03/2011 - 08/2012. These were some memorable 17 months.
This is the end, my only friends. I'm moving on to other things, as ModNation has given me all it could give.

It contains DLC that you don't have.
