YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! sooo ive been scrathing my head to come up with a fun way to create a rally Style Gp.. and here it is...
as everyone knows rallys are determined by who ever gets to the end with the fastest time... eg 54.323 Seconds
so my way is....
All pure race 3 laps... who ever has the fastest time at the end of the race wins... even if they come in last place in the actual race. as it is pure no one can warp to get the win or loose because of being smashed by weapons...
but as this is not hotlap where you get as many chances to perfect your route you will only get 3 laps... another racer might get in your way.. hardluck.. you might misjudge a corner... hard luck...
Tactics will be required...
get into 1st position and hold onto it with just a clear road ahead
or hold back let the pack go and try to blast your way around.... wait to long and that fatal dnf might haunt you...
points system
1 - 5points
2 - 4points
3 - 3points
4 - 2points
5 - 1point
6+ - no points
What do you guys think.... i think this could work really really well... all you need is to have 1 epic lap and you could earn yourself a win..

Hmmm, maybe we could do that for most of them, but I think we should throw in 1 or 2 action races and a a couple normal pures. Your idea is great, but I think we should mix it up, so there are normal races too.
Or, for the points, it should be:
1st: Best lap
2nd: Top place
3rd: 2nd best lap
4th: Next highest place, etc.
Imo, MNR races are most exciting when it's all about the frantic dash to the finish, so while your points would be awesome in a rally game, I think the way MNR sets it up works well for MNR. So, maybe we could do it like this, with one action thrown in (on one of the easier tracks):
Race 1: Normal
Race 2: Rally style (best lap)
Race 3: Normal
Race 4: Rally style, etc.
Regardless, I'm really looking forward to the rally GP, this is a great idea Alex! ![]()

"A special stage (SS) is a section of closed road at a stage rally event. Racers attempt to complete the stage in the shortest time. A race on a special stage is coordinated such that each competing racer begins after a set interval, to reduce the chance of impedance by other competitors. Each special stage is a relatively short section, usually up to about 30 miles in length. A rally usually comprises approximately 15–30 special stages. The driver with the lowest overall time for all special stages in an event is the winner." From Wiki
For competition style we can do this:
Instead of points we'll just make the total of all the rally track times.
So a rally track will be considered a SS, note your best lap and go on until last race.
This is for pure race competition.

I think both al's and blackjet's idea's are great, in principle, however, particularly with regards to the overall times across all tracks idea, MNR only gives players literally seconds at the end of the race to record the results and then, pooooof! they are gone forever! ![]()
So, I think it would be very difficult to do that way unfortunately, although al's per race idea is somewhat more feasible...

This, or we can get someone to video it.

Oh yeah, I only just noticed that, lol!
I see if you click details you see the results of each race, so as long as the person compiling the results doesn't race again, you can easily verify the results of the competition! Brilliant! ![]()
