Remix XP question

How does the XP allocation work for remixed tracks? Does the original creator get 100XP per download and the remixers another 100, or is it split 50-50?

Re: Remix XP question

You get 'credited' as the original creator but XP wise you get nothing, the remixer takes all the XP.

Re: Remix XP question

which is ridiculous. I left my creations as remixable at first to find that my Mickey Mouse had been downloaded and reuploaded by some idiot who didn't actually change anything. He gets over 150 downloads and I get nothing lol

Re: Remix XP question

So....all this time I've had my tracks remixable with the thought that I get a return and if somone post my track unedited, or with an extra blade of grass they could be stealing my xp?

Where is the official word on this? So far I've locked all my mods and karts cause stealing can occur, but now XP theivery needs to be added to the list? If this is true then what benefit is there of remix?

Re: Remix XP question

None, I also thought that a remix would give me XP as the original creator but that was a dream and from the moment I learnt that all my creations got locked

Re: Remix XP question

By the way, even if you did get XP from remixed creations as the original creator it would make no difference.

If you download a remixable mod/kart you can copy the sticker set from it onto a new one and thus upload it as being entirely your own work.

All my creations (yes the minor few that there are) are unremixable.

Re: Remix XP question

Well that could be easy to fix too, since you are making a copy from someones stickers the creation should be labeled as a remix from the original and so you could get XP for them, how could that be implemented? a flag that makes a copy not only off the stickers but the creator too so if you want to save the creation with those stickers its labeled as a remix

Re: Remix XP question

EVERYTHING I make is un-remixable. That said one disadvantage of the feature is if a track is un-remixable (as most decent ones are) you can't load it into the track editor to have a look how it was put together. I wish this were possible just to have a look at how creators like puppethand did some of their magic!

Re: Remix XP question

What we need is another official feedback thread to post and start seeing a change since the first one has since been locked. There is so little communication going on and the game is heading into the toilet because features arent working correctly, the community is crumbling, and there are far too many exploits that with the right mindset could be fixed.

Agreed. If UFG want this game to be anywhere near as succesful as LBP then they HAVE to start paying more attention to the community and becoming more actively involved. They have started, manually selecting top tracks and such, but much more needs to be done to discourage the rampant boosting taking place and placate the fans who have stuck by the game hoping that things will get better as it ages. Also... TRACK DLC!!! :smileywink:
