What is with the general lack of response from the servers lately?  There seems to be some kind of issue that's slowing everything down in MNR right now server side that's making it impossible to do almost anything other than load a game lobby.  I'm having trouble with the following:

-loading sprites in the modspot, including top mods/karts/fastest friend HL leader, etc.

-loading player profiles

-loading download screens for mods, karts, and tracks in the 'Share' section. (You can't back out of the 'Downloading...' once it -starts, and it never finishes so you have to terminate the game and reload the entire thing again :-/ )

-loading single-player races (TT and regular race) -- Freeze @ 9% often

-loading global lap time leaders for Time Trial (they remain blank on the 'select track' screen)

Everything just seems extremely sluggish lately, and it's making it almost impossible to play the game minus joining a game lobby for Casual or XP.

I don't see how the servers are slowing THAT down...

But you're right. Yesterday, when the afternoon began, everything was zetta slow. But it got better by 6pm. I hope the maintenance fixes that forever.

Thank god it's not only me, i was afraid it was my disk screaming to the death <.<

Well, it's a very bothersome, it takes like 2 or 3 minutes to load the profile and 5 minutes about to load the published creation and adding more time to check one ;-;

Also i barely see the ranks of each player on race as well

Well I'm glad to know it wasn't just me.  I was running around checking my internet speed, restarting the PS3, and by the end I figured it must have been something to do with their servers.  Thankfully the racing was just fine, but trying to load up creations was a nightmare.

Except for when I tried to join an XP race yesterday and the globe icon in Modspot turned to red and never let me rejoin the servers until I quit and reloaded the game (^^)

Not just this game, servers have been craptastic for others too. Or game loads fine, play for 10 min then start to bounce around for no reason or freeze. Had it happen with a few games over the weekend.

@ ponce:  Same here.  Wouldn't even let me attempt to connect.  Had to re-start whole game.  Weird.

that weird bug with trying to connect to an XP Race has been around forever.  you guys didn't need to restart the game fully... just enter career and exit, then try to reconnect.  should work fine (it's always worked for me)

oh i know it has, but i went into career, single, time trial, creation station and all the rest. still remained red.
