I'm a ps plus user who just got this game and I have to say I am loving it!  I have a 3 year old son who enjoys helping me make mods by telling me what to change and what to add. We made an Elmo and Elmo Kart together that actually turned out pretty good. I'm sure once he's a bit older he will be part of the online community too.

Glad to hear you like it! It is a great father son game, and there are some other father son duos out there as well! Hope you keep pluggin away with MNR cause its a great game and really helps open the creative side of ones mind.

It's not only a great father and son game, it's also a great husband and wife game. There're many couples playing the game (my wife and I included).

C and E Wilson are another father son pair that comes to my mind... as for husband and wife, there's the rippers, the drews, onepoppa and onemama and many more. I'm glad you like the game, welcome to the community!

There's also a lot of couples, like its2l84that/Meepcow, maggie/Corellian and Blu/vickie...

Thanks guys! I've become somewhat obsessed with getting in the top 10% of the hot lap time....Maybe I should finish campaign first to get my skill level up a little more. Some of those times are insane!

10% on Hot Lap (HL) is pretty hard to get if you haven't mastered drifting. So, I think that your idea of finishing the career first is the best way to go.

2 tips for HL

master drifting - you got to drift even on a straight line (it's not as hard as it sounds). This may sound weird, but the kart goes way faster when drifting.

fast kart setting - good times usually are set with the kart's settings at +1 to +2  handling and +1 to +2 speed (each track demands a different combination of both settings)

That's actually quite refreshing to hear. Amid the XP obsessing, boosting, D4Ding, Hot Lap topping, rating worrying serious business climate of this game there's a player who just plays this game for fun and profit as a family. You do know that you can play online split-screen, right? If you do, come and join OnePoppa and friends for races - it's more than just fun racing for all ages, it's a way to chat with some veteran players of this game.

Oh, I never knew that, I suspected corellian and maggie, its2l84that and meep is very interesting, as is blucarasel and vickie. It's amazing how little I know about the community lol. As for hot lap I find it fun getting top 10 percent. If I don't race decently well I can't do it, which makes it a nice challenge for me.
