Lately, people haven't been too motivated to create (ex: me and ath). We need something to inspire us to create more.
I remember the days when people loved to create, but couldn't create what they wanted to because they weren't skilled enough. So instead, they posted pics of what they wanted on the forums and challenged creators to recreate the scene. For example, one guy wanted to create something, so he posted a pic. Many creators felt like doing it, knowing it was a challenge, but only a few finished. This is how Ivo's Vela Nova (i think its called) track came into existance. If you know this track, it is a very good one. I say that if we start posting pics here, we would feel more motivated to create and would give ideas to already active creators.
Maybe 1 or 2 pics a week would give plenty of ideas to us. More would be cool, but we don't need to be urged to overwork, right? If any of you think of any other track inspiring ideas, post it here.

One problem may be that some track creators lose heart when they see what others can do with glitches. Glitches are great when you know how to exploit them, but many of them require extensive knowledge and a lot of time to implement, and I'd guess the majority of 'casual' track creators lack one or both.
Don't get me wrong - I've been amazed at many of the glitch-based creations and the artistry used to maximise what they can allow in design - but I often feel that, no matter how much design effort I put into an unglitched track, it's always going to be comparatively bland.
I'll continue to design and publish tracks using the limited skills I have, but I'm less inclined to post them here as feedback will always be minimal compared to the more spectacular stuff out there.
It would be nice to think that if new tracks were posted here with NG (non-glitch) in the title they would be evaluated and commented on with that in mind, but it doesn't seem likely.

Well the focus here wasn't to post pics of actual tracks so others could expand on it. No. It was to post pics you find on the internet or even take yourself. The pic that was used in Ivo's case was just a scene that a guy wanted to capture. Not an actual pic of a track. But if you want to post a pic of a track, go ahead.
About glitches, great tracks can still be made without glitches. For example: my Desert GP Rally track was made entirely without glitches (well.... just a few props were placed using the trick) and it did pretty well when it came to design. What we all really need is that design in our heads, the starting point. If we can have a clear picture in our heads, we can create it. Most of the time, you can surprising do it without glitches.

anax - Glitches are only an advancment on extremely powerful creation tools...
Check out my :
M.O.D - Sector 7
This track is created without any glitches... theres are many great tracks without glitches.
you just need to think outside the box... and come up with an overall idea for a track..
Here are some pics that have inspired me....

An account of lack of time I doubt I'd get round to doing it, but... would love to see the original Sega Rally Championship (1995) tracks reduxed for MNR!

That first pic is the one at the Odeon Cinema when the movie is about to begin ![]()
Oh, and for track inspirations, use SONIKKU. Unleashed is probably the best since it has the most realistic locales. Minus Eggmanland.

What's up anaxim?
Yes, some are difficult and time consuming to use, but the "Red shadow" prop placement glitch is one of the best and most handy to use, and is sooo easy to use!! For the Angle, the Paint, and the 5 theme glitches, Just "closely" follow the tutorials and once you do it a couple times, all of the glitches are fairly easy. It just takes careful planning for the type of track you want to create to get the most out of each glitch. The Height glitch I am not sure of, but I have heard it is a tricky one and is quite difficult to work with. And also, to save time and frustration, Just dwnload and use one of the many Track templates there are with the Angle or height glitch.

I don't think this is true, because I only started using these glitches in my more recent tracks ( 4 or 5 of them) and I think my tracks are quite interesting on the visual side. I realize that some of my earlier tracks ( because of too much propwork ) tend to lag a little in a full gameroom and some tend to have Audio Lag ( because of too many "fire" props). And it also seems to me that most racers seem to experience at least a little Lag when racing online anyway.

I like yor tracks and I think the rest of this community likes them also. Sometimes I wonder these same things, due to the lack of response on my track posts? But I have just accepted it because I realize how much time it takes to come on to the Forums, read all the posts, go download and try all of these tracks and then come back on here and write a review on them and still have the time to work on your own tracks, post pics of your "New" track on the forums and not to mention, live your own busy life( whew!!!). I can't keep up. I don't know how others do it.
So just keep pluggin away man, I for one, always look foward to your detailed explanations of your tracks
(Makes me feel as if I had already raced on it !) ![]()

That's from a movie? Interesting. Anyway, I am already done with the track layout and have started designing the track.
As for Unleashed tracks, that is very possible as I have that game and beaten it years ago. I still remember most of it.
Spoiler 1: My track
Spoiler 2: Future tracks?

I promised you all a track that looked like this picture... and here it is!
This is the wonderful Utopian Citadel where people come to relax and have fun. It has everything a bustling city needs while at the same time it is environmentally clean!
Here is the beautiful start and the highlight of the city! Cool off in the water before you heat up in the rest of the race!
You land on the pier which is very easy to fall off of. Show off your drining skillz here!
The pier splits into 2 parts here. The left side is easier to navigate, but requires boost and is a tad slow. The right side is just like before.
Exit the pier and enter the loading dock. You can take a quick right into the storehouse for some boost or stay on the main track for some speed. The storehouse is a little faster if done right. If you can find the switch (which isn't too hard), you can open up the left side which speeds you into a totally different path for the next half of the track!
Here, you enter the vineyards and get a fresh scent in your noses. If you took the storehouse/main way, you will be on the track here and jump from the left. If you took the left way, you would enter the vineyards and jump from the middle ones.
After dodging some buildings, you land on either of these 2 paths. Main: right, Vineyards: left.
If you landed on the left, a scenic pard awaits you with its curvy turns and an amazing waterfall! What a sight!
If landed on the right, you would have a big drifting moment through the city block. As you can see, the 2 paths converge on the right of the pic.
And there you have it! The complete tour through the complete city! Have fun and don't stare at that sun too long!
Track name: Utopian Citadel
Creator: The_Pwner007
One more thing: this track is completely item-free! This preserves the natural beauty of the track. (Not really, I just felt that items weren't necessary.)
