Just downloaded it and looked, what is a sky scraper doing there? Otherwise this looks really interesting...

Oh and just checking, we can't use any other concrete blocks, just the seaside ones... right?

Re: prob_alex - Track Challenge

Finished my track and came to the forum to see what's going on with the challenge and read these:

"2 - sliding platforms - only use these 2" - I angled them, does that mean that my track is disqualified?

"boost pads/ pick ups puddles invisible triggers, blockers, knock overable props are all allowed on your own accord." - the bold ones were not in the original challenge and I didn't use any of those cause in the original challenge it said "Only these props are to be used. nothing else.." referring to only use the ones not bolded and the original list that had 2 mega jumps.

"Chevrons are allowed only to direct the path..." - I thought that not using anything outside the original list was the challenge so I made my track very intuitive and didn't use any chevrons.

IMO, adding all these extra props diminishes the challenge. It also can be unfair to the ones that like me finished the track (or are very close to) based on the original rules.

Re: prob_alex - Track Challenge

Ripper the origional post was set up to see if there was any1 interested in the challenge. As there were many people still participating in other challenges. Not the finalised version.

And yes u can angle the platforms..

The challenge is only a bit of fun anyway. More to show the different possibilities of each prop..
Im sorry that you feel that way.. :smileysad:

As for chevrons many many tracks need them. This was the reason i thought they would be needed.

Re: prob_alex - Track Challenge

Please don't get me wrong. I don't feel bad or anything close to that (written communication can mislead sometimes and I should have done a better job, sorry).

I had a lot of fun working on my track and enjoyed the challenge of making it  "chevron independent". As for blocks, well,  I wish I had known it earlier... I may add some just as an addition to the track, but it's too late to add them to close paths or anything similar.

I found it extremely challenging to use all the props. It's hard to combine all of them in a single track as some of them just don't fit together. So I have a question that may be other's question as well. Were (are) we supposed to use each prop at least once? (I did it, but that may have been only my assumption)

Re: prob_alex - Track Challenge

dam it......setting up a challenge is alot harder than it looks lol...

know you dont have to use every prop... but if you did that is billiant!! as i know they dont go together...
and just so you know, the way you have created your track is exactly the way im doing mine..

i will be using every prop once.. and i hardly ever use chevrons in any track.. as i hate the look of them. so if you have created a nice flowing track with no chevrons. well done. i know how hard that is to do.

June 17th? That will be a lot of "waiting time" for me personally. What i'm saying by this is that i'm finished with mine already!   :smileyvery-happy:

Re: prob_alex - Track Challenge

95% done with mine, looking good and only 40% of the budget used! :smileyvery-happy: I think there's about 4 props I haven't even found a use for, so in total I'm using about 17 props? :smileyvery-happy: Still, it's as detailed as any of my other tracks, this was a fun challenge!

Btw, can we publish them now? I notice macAttack8000 already has his up... I'm not bothered about people stealing my ideas, I make all my ath_racing stuff remixable anyway, so if they wanted they could just pop into the editor and have a good gander :smileyhappy:
