Re: MNR Grand Prix 2011

If u don't time the door on Penguin Palace its the same result. And on Snowstorm if the ramp chooses not to come up you get nothing. I think its a decent risk/reward situation on that track.

Re: MNR Grand Prix 2011

Snow Storm City:  Way too much reward if you just get lucky and the ramp is up.

Penguin Palace:  Getting lucky and getting through the doors hardly cuts off any time.  Half second maybe.

Monsoon Edge:  Only track I know where hitting the doors just wrong and sitting there waiting for them to open is still faster       than going around.  Stupid.

Not only that, but having the door close in your face still makes a big difference on the outcome of a race.

I'd also like to add a couple more things:

Ice Breaker: It may be just me, but the launcher jump shortcut that lands on a red and white barrel malfunctions pretty frequently on me. Often I'll get snagged on landing, killing all my speed, and on rare occasions the game may even blow my kart up on landing because it considered the landing a wall contact instead of landing on the track.

Iceberg Edge: The last launcher jump is horrible. Randomly when I go off it I get radically spun, which may totally screw with the air control, like making me unable to move left or not giving you any control, resulting in me splattering against the ice pillars.

Thank you kuro-anco. You really turned me into a Touhou nut.

Re: MNR Grand Prix 2011

AngelG:  You probably already know this, but on Monsoon Edge, you can squeeze between the doors and the walls on either side.  You have to hit it just right, but sometimes its worth it to aim for it when coming around the corner.  Its cool when you can fly right through with the doors up.

Iceberg Edge:  I hate that too.  I have to let completely off of the controls (No drift, no steering) when hitting that ramp.  If I do that, 95% of the time I'm Ok, but that 5% still gets me!  Seems to be random.

Ice Breaker:  I never go that way, because I always hated how you would lose speed on the landing.

I want to do a mix. It will be something like 50% UFG / 50% UGC. Mostly action. So no one has an advantage we'll take suggestions for the UGC / UFG tracks but they won't know ahead of time.

But I'll know. Thinking about it though, since I layed out most of the stuff already, maybe I could just pick the tracks too and excuse myself from the racing for the Grand Prix. Sure I wouldn't mind participating and competing with the best, but it will only be a matter of time before people starting complaining that I rigged it or whatever, and I really wouldn't mind avoiding that. Might as well just have one person pick the tracks and I guess it might as well be me.

I'll still remain signed up for now because I'm still not entirely sure. Everybody should be on an equal playing field I'm thinking and it don't make much sense that one of the top racers would be picking everything and competing himself.
