Sorry about that guys it was reserved for future info on this router.
OK it seems there is a major firmware bug here. I took notes on the issues I need someone else to repeat the dmz settings. I need to know if its just that router or any westell 7500.
These are the steps
1 Go to the ps3 connection and set IP and DNS and MTU to auto. Disable Upnp. Click X to save and check connection. You can exit out of that now.
2 Go to the router page, firewall and DMZ host. Now select the ps3. It will be a mac address this is written on the ps3 you can also find it in ps3 connection status
3 let the router reboot.
4 turn the ps3 off then on again
5 go to the router firewall and DMZ page again and make sure you have WAN IP. If it is 0.0.0.0 you can unplug the phone cord and plug it in again to get a IP. You will know if it works when a wan IP shows in DMZ or the westell internet light is on.
Now go to your ps3 connection test and see if its Nat type 1. When the DMZ works it will show nat type 1 as the result.
You will be able to play modnation when it say nat type 1
I have some notes on issues I had however I want to see what you get before posting them.
Do not set a static IP for the ps3.

Thats what I wanted to know. I had the same thing it stops as soon as you take the ps3 off the dmz. At first I thought it might just be that modem. Obviously its not. That is exactly the way the manual tells you to do it. Im not sure if its the ps3 or the router but its not working. I could reboot the modem just by testing ps connection.
It randomly worked with a manual IP (which isnt what the manual tells you to do) but its unreliable.
I think we can say DMZ wont work! No one else try it- this was to make sure it wasnt just that modem.
Now I did have progress with forwarding single ports. It was simple. There were no odd issues and it worked with normal firwall setting. I had a problem though with entering mod nations ports. The one for ps online and LBP works. The problem is I cant forward ranges like my router. The base port wont take anything except single ports. So I can enter a range on the global port start and global port end but I cant enter more then one for the base host.
Port forwarding will be the only way this will work Im affraid. The DMZ doesnt like the ps3 no matter how you set it. I tried for long time.
Again no one bother with DMZ it refuses to work with the ps3.
Oddly enough I just found this in this case the same thing happened

There is major issue there. He got the other console working with port forwarding like I however the problem here again is that we need a range and you cant enter that for the base port.
Kinda stranded.

If you want to make sure its your router you can setup a bridge to your ps3.
This makes it just a modem so you wont have any other internet in the house only the ps3.
This will just make sure you know its just router causing the problem. Since its free it is worth trying.
Your internet is verizon right? So it should be PPPOE if you know the username and password I would try it. If you dont you should call verizon and find out.
pages 82-88 show how to bridge it really isnt that hard.

You set the modem to bridge mode. You unhook all ethernet cords except the E1 hook that to your ps3. Go to ps3 wired connection manual then pppoe then put in dsl username and password.
Worse case is you reset the modem and it back to default after that.

So far no however we have a idea what does and doesnt.
DMZ by the manual (mac address) wont work, makes the modem constantly reboot.
DMZ with static IP is random. Restart the ps3 or the modem and it stops working. It doesnt alway work anyway its random etc.
If I look in the router DMZ it will show the ps3 mac address as *. When static IP stops working for DMZ the router shows the ps3 IP is * same as mac address did. I think its a firmware bug. So DMZ wont work.
Port forwarding. Works except for modnation. If you raise the firewall level it blocks ports psn uses so you cant log in. If forward the psn ports then I can log in to psn. So that means that port forward works. When I put in the modnation ports it wont work with game.
Either the router cant handle the ports, the range etc. Or its something else. I forwarded it the way the instructions say that is start 10000 end 11000 baseport 10000 like that. Same as the single ports for psn. psn works but this wont.
I had someone try port triggering and they said that didnt work. I might have access to the modem again in few days.
